ACT 1

Act 1

Facius was a generous worker, living in the city of Aetherion. The surroundings of the city was enough for the gazer to cry tears of joy. The buildings were bricks upon bricks of stones that looks to be woven from the flesh of the goddess Aphrodite, the grass looks as if it was growing emeralds. Facius grows his grapes and wheat in these grass and kept pigs and cows. They are the best in the whole region. Facius had gotten these from his time in the sun, heat and battles that he had fought before he was a farmer.

In his two years of his time in the army, his world fell apart as he was beaten by the enemy captors. But fortunate for him, he was liberated after his two last months, having to lose many friends to the captors. Their blood was still on their armor to this day, never to be washed away as a symbol of honor. He wouldn’t want to come back to the days of him fighting and losing many other things he hoped he never will lose.

Now, 23 years old, he was a successful person, not of the high status but enough to have 25 slaves to work for him. Facius also has an eye for a woman named Thalia. His love for the woman was powerful that not even the fact that Thalia was an upper class stopped him from loving her. “When we will marry” He asked, with his eyes wondering through the fields of growing wheat. Then he went back to his family’s house. His father was dead long ago and his mother is now the only person that took care of him.

This is the story of Facius, a generous man that will has his life be directed to fight the first overlord of the underworld himself.

The story of this man starts with him plowing his wheat seeds and wiping sweat off his head. His clothes were wet from sweat and it was an unusually hot day. Ten of his pigs died from the heat and he was thinking to buy more to breed and sell. His slaves were, as the usual, working hard, almost malnourished and was about to succumb to the earth. But they said nothing to his master, as when they did, they thought they will be whipped by their benevolent master.

Facius saw one of his slave’s stomach. She was pregnant, he thought. And so he let her rest for the day and kept everyone else at the field. The day was almost over and he kept pushing hard for his crops. Tomorrow he could sell the rest of the crops that he won’t need. But then suddenly he heard his slaves shouting and crying out to him. One of his slaves died from the heat. He quickly went to the commotion. “Who has died?” He looked at the dead body. He cannot remember the name of the man but he liked this man but never showed his gratification.

At night, he ordered the slaves to get ready to give the body a proper burial, and they did. After the burial, Facius went to eat his dinner of porridge washed down with wine. His mother was silent the whole time. This wasn’t normal as she was always talkative. The next morning he went to the market to sell the remainder of his crops and buy more pigs but bumped into Thalia. Thalia had a beautiful yellow hair that reflected the sun and she was fair. She is kind and generous but she is also very rebellious towards his father.

“Oh, hello Facius. How are you?” She asked. They are friends, but never had been too close because of Thalia’s father. Facius answered in a quick bolt, “I am doing fine, thank you. How about you?”

“My father’s forcing me to marry again. This time with a man with higher stature than the other. A councilman from a nearby neighboring city”

“That is the fifth time this month”

“I’d rather marry the gods under than that horse-looking snob”

“That isn’t very nice, is it?”

“I know but he does looks like a horse”

They both laughed out loud, unknowing that a man from the darkness of the underworld was watching them, eyeing Thalia. “Ahh, my Worshipper’s offspring. She’ll make a good breeder for sure. Her eyes that matches the sky and her skin whiter than milk. She’ll make a good wife for sure.” The man who says so was the first overlord of the underworld. His name was Malumbrosus.

Malumbrosus was the most feared overlord of the underworld, having a body count of 100 000 men and women, children alike. He had conquered a region of the underworld known as “Abyssum irent”. It isn’t an abyss, like the name suggest, but rather a place where Hades had never touched and never cared for. The inhabitants are the monsters from the darkest corners of the world who had died.

Malumbrosus was one of the many monsters. Malumbrosus was a madman in his life, cursed to be a monster of many eyes and four arms. Some says that he possesses many arsenal of weapons behind his armor, made from copper beaten a million times until it was gold and solid, and no attacks had ever broke the armor. The man was feared by every army and was never defeated. His throne in his kingdom had a warning of “MY ENEMIES UNDERNEATH ME”.

Until one day, a man by the name of Dunagalis, a man of great strength had beaten him in a fight. It was a close battle, fought with his Javelins with the tip of lightning given by Zeus and a sword made by Athena. Dunagalis first threw his Javelins at Malumbrosus, which broke Malumbrosus’ shield, then he strikes Malumbrosus with his sword, shattering Malumbrosus’ sword, then the final killing blow was to the head of Malumbrosus.

The head wasn’t buried, neither the body. The head was stitched back to the body, then was left hanging on his palace, never to rot. His kingdom later fell and Malumbrosus went to the underworld, to bring a new kingdom that would concern the gods.

Back to the real, living world, Facius had done his shopping and sold the rest of his crops. He went back to his farm, where he would see that it had been raided by the savages again. He sighed, then walked back to his home. He was shocked to see his mother, lying on the floor, bloody and battered. He fell to his knees, holding his mother’s murdered body in his arms. His mother, the most important person in his life, cold and unmoving. His eyes watered and stings, but not from sadness, but from anger. The man who did this, will pay for what he did. He got up and carried his mother’s body out and lays her on a bundle of sticks and burnt the body. He went to grab his old armor, shield and spear from a dusty chest and marched to his slave’s quarters.

“Rise and shine, my slaves!” He called out. His slaves woke up and looked at him, fearing that he will kill them with his spear. But they were relieved to hear what he had to say, “You are all freed. If I were to never return, keep my farm and my money.” They all nodded at this, confused. “Where are you going, master?” One of them asked. Facius looked at the man and answered with a stern voice, “I am going to hunt.”

He went to Thalia’s home, then called out to her. “Thalia, my friend, come out!” No one responded and so he called out again, “My friend Thalia! Where are you? I am going to hunt and wanted to say something before I am gone forever!” No one answered again. The clouds cleared and the moonlight shone the armor on Thalia’s guards’ armors. They were bloodied and the guards are dead. His heart dropped when he sees that Thalia’s mother, brother and father, the most important man in Aetherion, dead. But a light of hope shone in his heart. Thalia was nowhere to be seen amongst the dead bodies.

Thalia was taken away, he assumed, and so went to his friend’s home. His friend wasn’t in the city, so he assumed that his friend is safe. Turns out, his friend is less than safe, but much better than dead. His friend had been out of his house for a long time because he joined the army, his father explained. And so after a long time of walking north, Facius walked onto sand and water. The ocean was long and distant from the mainland, he knew. But he can see merchant ships close to the port and he sneaked in.

He waited for the ship to move, but no one was onboard. And so he waited. And soon fell asleep. The next day, he was awoken by the ship moving side to side and then suddenly it jolted to a stop. He got up and stretched and everybody on the ship suddenly noticed the man in the corner, hiding behind barrels. They all called out “Stowaway!” and so Facius jumped off the ship, meeting the cold ocean water. He woke up later, being dragged out of the water by a man. “Are you alright? You are an idiot for doing this you know that, don’t you?”

Facius looked at the man. He was a guard.
