Preface and Contents
I would like to open this story with a small disclaimer. There will be portions where I use Artificial Intelligence as a form of performative art. This is not a collection of AI generated works. All of the stories are created by me, Macy, with minor assistance from ChatGPT and NovelAI. I do not believe AI art can replace me, and I am willing to use it to my full advantage, but I am still a human. All cases of AI works will be laid out in an obvious format.
I would also like to disclose that my stories deal with intense themes, including suicide, cultural upheaval, and general pain. I will not be putting trigger warnings on individual stories. If you are weak at heart, this is your invitation to turn back now.
I came up with a few of these stories while on a small boat off the coast of Iceland. I had gone day without access to internet due to pricing of international data, and I had been pondering my connection to it. I love the internet. I love it so much. It has given me access to all of mankind’s information, and has allowed me the chance to make dear friends and acquaintances and enemies.
While I was on this boat with little to do, I decided to take a few notes on my phone. I imagined a new tower of Babel, where mankind built something great. I also imagined an internet chatroom for aliens. I imagined interviews with AIs, trying to pull any semblance of humanity out of them, and I imagined us using those AIs to scam more aliens.
I looked out onto the small town of Grundarfjorder, I pondered all that I had seen on the trip so far. Our world is tragic, and hilarious. Places that make no sense, people doing strange things. All of them so uniquely human. I hope to provide a taste of chaos and exploration in my stories. I hope you laugh as much as you cry. Or at the very least I hope I provide for you a semblance of quality. I hope you enjoy my first official work.
