Isa Parks 2004
Sirens, reporters from every angle. Ambulances, police cars, rushing into Isa Parks. It had been an hour since the girl’s scream. Her screaming at her best friend’s dead body on its most popular ride. Thunder Waves, the rollercoaster that everybody wanted to be on. Four kids came on the rollercoaster, only one survived. A girl of fifteen, nearly ready for high school, was there will the elementary, middle and high school with the name MetalWood, for a week at the most popular theme park since Disney.
The three who died, a girl and two boys are in the ambulances, to study the bodies, to see how they died. Their names were kept private but somehow, the first names were being thrown about. Jason, Gem, Amber. Two kids have been considered missing, the same age as the dead kids, same age as the girl who survived. Their names, Olive and Samuel. They had not been seen since that morning, police were looking for them, shouting out their names.
There was never any answer.
“At Isa Parks today,” each reporter started with, some in different languages, the whole world was in their seats, looking at the serious faces of the reporters, none of their eyes were taken off the screen “Three students of the MetalWood Middle School have been found dead at their most popular attraction, Thunder Waves and two other students of that same school have been declared missing. The names shall be kept private, for their family’s time to mourn.”
One child in particular, was looking out of the window, her name was Carrie, the girl who survived while the others didn’t, she was looking out of the Dae Hotel, watching all those below her. She had just finished her questioning with the cops, and she just could not stop thinking about those dead kids. One of them, Amber, had been her best friend since she tipped water over the unsuspecting Carrie during kindergarten, she stayed in her mind longer than the others.
“You alright Carrie?” asked one of the two surviving roommates of hers “I know that it must be awful to even experience it.”
Carrie then turned around and then nodded at her before looking back at the sunset. This time yesterday, her, Amber and the other two girls were all chatting about how fun that week was going to be. Now, it’s a nightmare that no matter how much you want to escape, to wake up, you just... can’t. All three girls then heard a knock on the door.
“Come in, well unless you are a murderer, then don’t.” said one of the girls, Jess, before she slapped her head. Dammit, she thought. The other two then looked at her and then raised their eyebrows.
“Really Jess,” said a dark girl, hair in bunches “Is that really the smartest thing to say in any situation.
Jess then shook her head as she opened the door. One of the cops was at the door. Short, ginger hair, like a sergeant. Bushy eyebrows that are like a pine tree. He then looked at the three girls, all shaking in their boots, scanning every corner of the room. Carrie at once, thought that she was going to be arrested. She tried not to shiver but the teeth were doing just that. They were chattering for her.
“Right, Jess Autumn, Tula Light and Carrie Zoleburgh,” she said, no emotion in her voice, like a robot “Please can you vacate the premise, we all want every child near the Sweet Candy Train, leave all your belongings, they’ll be given to your parents when they pick you up.”
The girls were then led to the most babyish ride in Isa Parks, one that only the 2–6-year-olds enjoy. It was, as you guessed, a train make out of candy, not real or the wasps will be at them, but made from plastic. There were around 1000 children there, all afraid, all shaking, some tried to be brave but failed. Except the kindergartener, Henry, who was more worried about the train.
“I cannot believe we’ll never see the Sweet Candy Train ever again.” he announced, making the younger kids cry. A few fourth graders pretended to vomit at the sickening sweetness of it.
Everyone may have different reactions to all this but there was one thing in common. They would never forget this day for the rest of their lives but for none of the right reasons. Especially for Carrie.
