Chapter 1

" I'm Sorry, I can't love you the way you would want me to love you Lilly" Tanner had tears in his eyes, looking into mine so deeply. I knew that this day would come, I should have left when he gave me the chance.

" It's okay Tanner, I'm sure Mandy will love you just as much as I loved you.. Or maybe even more" I whispered as I placed my warm palms against his face.

I reached down grabbing my suitcase that was place near my feet, never would I have imagined that it all would come to an end so quick. Three years you would think that would give you enough time for someone who's ice cold to love you.

I turned around and started heading towards the door, reaching for the handle until I felt a pair of warm arms wrapped around my waist.

" Thank you for loving me" Tanner whispered softly as he placed his head against my back. This was it, these were the last words that he have to say to me.

" You were always loved Tanner, You just have to open up your heart" I whispered back trying my best to hold back the tears in my eyes. I finally grabbed the door handle to see there was something bight still shining on my ring finger.

I placed my suitcase down, slowly turning towards Tanner. Removing his warm wrapped arms from my waist and pushing him away from me.

Taking off the ring that slide off my finger, it felt like butter when it came off. Holding it up towards Tanner himself as he looked down at the ring. His eyes lit up, it was some pain that was behind those eyes that I couldn't tell.

" This belongs to you" I voiced softly as my tears started to roll down my face. Tanner looked up at me to catch my eyes as I looked down quickly.

" That ring belongs to Mandy. Make sure to tell her that I was just holding it safe for her" My voice cracked.

" You don't have to give it back" Tanner raised his hand to wipe away the tear that was rolling down my cheek that I didn't even notice.

" I rightfully do, It's not mine to keep. You're not mine either" I commented at I wiped my tears away and reached for my suitcase.

" Goodbye Tanner Miller" I said softly as the door clicked open, giving him one small glance behind to have a quick look before I walk out these doors and everything ends.

" It's not goodbye, It's see you later" Tanner commented back as he held onto the door giving me more access to get into the hallway and towards the elevator.

" Take care" I hit the down button on the elevator.

" You too."

That was the last thing I heard while I was getting into the elevator.

" I love you always" I whispered and let my sob roar through the elevator.

And that, was the last time I ever crossed path with Tanner Miller.
