Chapter 1
"I am beyond excited to finally get out of this town and move to the big city!" Mira proclaims to Sasha.
"I am very happy for your sake, but I'm going to miss you." Sasha is close to tears.
"I'll come and visit, every chance I get. I promise you this, Sasha."
"Is it not going to be weird, living with Lucas's family? You know you are going to run into Lucas constantly?" Sasha seems concerned.
"Oh Sasha, you know things between myself and Lucas were never serious."
"Mira, my friend, it was serious enough for you to give him your virginity." Sasha sounds a little annoyed.
Mira has no comeback on Sasha's statement, all she can do is laugh.
"I still have some packing to do, before I leave tomorrow. You must have a good evening. I will see you tomorrow before I hit the lang road to J'burg. I love you to the stars." Mira gives Sasha I quick kiss on the cheek.
"Goodnight Mira. Love you more."
The next morning, Mira is up and going before sunrise. She is just too exited. This new chapter of her life is calling on her.
She packs the last of her luggage into her car. She wonders what time Sasha will come round to say her good-byes. If she didn't have to wait for Sasha, she could hit the road right now. Maybe she should just drive to Sasha's house and put the good-byes behind them.
Mira gets in her car and drives over to Sasha's house. Sarah's house is still bathed in darkness. Mira parks her car in the street, infront of Sasha's house. She walks up to the front door and rings the door bell. Mira can hear footsteps inside the house and she knows Sasha is going to be cranky, because she woke Sasha this early. Sasha is not a morning person.
The door opens with a cracking noise and Sasha appears in the doorway. She is rubbing her eyes to try to get them to focus.
"Mira, what are you doing here this early?" Sasha is not impressed, being woken at ungodly hour.
"Good morning Sasha. I couldn't sleep any longer. I decided to pack my stuff up and hit the road." Mira doesn't care to try and be apologetic, she is to exited about the future calling on her.
Sasha start crying. "I am going to miss you very much. Please reconsider going?"
"Oh Sash, I'm going to miss you too, but this is my future we are talking about. I am going to get my degree and make a success of my life. I don't just want to get married and have babies. I want to make something of myself."
"Promise you will come and visit, Mira?" Sasha is now crying uncontrollably.
"I promise Sash. Love you to the stars."
Sasha can only nodd her head, overcome with emotion.
Mira gives Sasha a big hug and leaves her standing in the doorway.
Excitement is rushing through Mira's vains. She waves at Sasha and speeds of, on her way to a bright new future.
Mira types in the home address of the Dekkers. It will be a six hour drive. Mira have never drove such a distance on her own. All she could see in her minds eye, is her bright new future.
