Burning Resilience
Dancing flames, they leap and twirl,
With the menacing embers, a story unfurls.
Uncontrollable flames, they flicker with delight,
A double edged sword that pierces just right.
My twin flame, nervousness and worry in every exchange.
A burning sensation that will never change.
I feel good, when your hands blanket my eyes,
The public's judgment within your lies.
Suffocating smoke that's never enough,
A raging inferno; a heart that skips many beats.
Troubled breathing, from deep breaths to puffs.
Self Consciousness; a goliath rampant on my streets.
Have the embers seared my soul?
Have I— fed the flame to the point of no return?
Slowly, trickles of water flow into a mighty stream.
Extinguishing the fire till little but stream.
I fan the smoke, until my first breath.
A promise made to LIVE until death.
Somedays are harder than others to bear.
Yet underneath my quiet demeanor lies a fierce flair.
