Begins of a Mysterious Foe

Over countless millennia, the world as we once knew it crumbled beneath the impact of an asteroid. Chaos engulfed the entire planet. In its aftermath, survivors from every corner of our vast continent embarked on the arduous task of rebuilding their cities.

Despite the appearance of continuity with the past, the old governing structures had crumbled beyond repair. Each city that was once a piece of a larger nation emerged as an independent entity, leveraging the remnants of bygone resources. This divergence led to some cities experiencing exponential growth, while others remained stagnant. As a result, segments of humanity had already catapulted into a new era of technology.

And as our narrative unfolds, we find ourselves at the cusp of a groundbreaking scientific discovery.

News Guy 1: 'Breaking news!' The words blared from the television, seizing the attention of everyone in the room. The news anchor's voice exuded urgency, adding to the unexpected tension.

Eager to learn more about the mysterious vials and the enigmatic Schöpfer brothers behind them, the news announcer hurried through the building's hallways, guided by the promise of an extraordinary story. His journey culminated in a modern, pristine white room, where the two brothers stood, their expressions a mix of surprise and caution.

The taller brother, with short brown hair and black glasses, stood beside his slightly shorter sibling, whose long brown hair flowed freely. Both turned to face the approaching reporters, intrigued yet guarded.

Hegemon: 'Did you let them in?' Hegemon's voice carried a note of confusion as he glanced at his brother.

Vörher: 'No, I don't believe so,' Vörher replied, equally perplexed.

News Reporter 1: 'We were just wondering how this discovery came to be?' The news reporter's eagerness was palpable, poised to unveil the story behind the captivating vials.

Hegemon began to speak but was abruptly cut off by Vörher, who seemed eager to share their remarkable discovery.

Vörher: 'Well, we can't share the exact details, but these are parts of things that all living beings have.' Vörher's words hinted at the profound nature of their creation, leaving the reporters even more intrigued.

News Reporter 1: 'And exactly how do these colorful glasses relate to all living beings?' The question lingered, awaiting an answer that would unveil the connection between the vials and the essence of life itself.

Hegemon and Vörher exchanged a meaningful glance, silently agreeing to share a glimpse of their groundbreaking work.

Hegemon: 'We managed to distill the strengths from many different people and encapsulate them in a liquid form we call a "trait." If you consume this liquid, it can enhance a specific trait within you, making it stronger.'"

"Hegemon's revelation brimmed with the potential to unlock hidden capabilities within individuals, leaving the reporters awestruck. As the discussion teetered on the brink of delving into the scientific marvel before them, the television erupted with breaking news, suspending the conversation and leaving the room in breathless anticipation.

TV Reporter: The city found itself engulfed in shock and anxiety as breaking news unfolded. A peculiar skeletal creature had launched an assault on their peaceful enclave, casting an eerie, fearful shadow over the urban landscape. Its ominous demand for the Schöpfer Brothers sent shivers through both the citizens and the brothers themselves.

Skeleton: 'If you don't reach the City, both of you, in three days, I will be compelled to come there myself and hunt you down.'

The creature's bone-chilling words echoed through the television broadcast, its sinister threat lingering heavily in the air. With a swift, skeletal gesture, a crimson projectile shot toward the TV reporter's camera, exploding upon impact, leaving a cloud of sparks and shattered equipment. Hegemon and Vörher exchanged alarmed glances, mirroring the astonishment and dread that gripped their audience. The unforeseen twist had plunged them into a perilous situation, facing an enigmatic adversary with formidable powers.

Hegemon: 'Do you honestly think we can combat that thing? It possesses abilities we've never witnessed before.'

Vörher: 'Agreed. We mustn't underestimate the danger it presents. Our foremost concern should be the safety of ourselves and those around us.'

As reporters scrambled to make sense of the unfolding crisis, Vörher stepped forward, his expression unwavering, radiating determination.

Vörher: 'Ladies and gentlemen, please, do not panic. We greatly appreciate your curiosity and interest in our work, but at this moment, our focus must shift to safeguarding ourselves and confronting this new threat.'

News Reporter 2: 'How do you plan to address this situation? What can we expect from you?'

Hegemon's voice, authoritative and resolute, contributed to the dialogue.

Hegemon: 'We've dedicated years to studying the boundless potential within and beyond humanity, including the capacity to adapt and conquer unforeseen challenges. We will leverage our knowledge and resources to devise a strategy—whether to neutralize this threat, safeguard innocent lives, or, optimally, enlist the assistance of the military or relevant authorities in handling it.'"

News Reporter 1: "Will you surrender to the creature's demands?"

Vörher stood tall, commanding respect with his unwavering presence.

Vörher: "Surrender is not in our nature. Fear will not dictate our actions. We will confront this creature head-on and ensure the safety of both ourselves and the people of this city. Our determination knows no bounds."

The news reporters nodded, impressed by the Schöpfer Brothers' resolute stance in the face of adversity.

News Reporter 1: "What can the public do to stay safe?"

Hegemon: "We advise everyone to remain vigilant and heed the instructions of local authorities. If you come across any suspicious activities or encounter dangerous situations related to the creature, do not hesitate to report them to law enforcement."

News Reporter 2: "Is there a way the public can assist you?"

Vörher's smile carried a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

Vörher: "Your support and cooperation mean the world to us. In the days ahead, keep an eye out for any information related to the creature or its motives. Sharing credible information and standing united as a community will be immensely helpful. But please, exercise caution and assess the safety of your surroundings if the creature is in proximity."

The city teetered on the edge, torn between fear and determination, as the Schöpfer Brothers pledged to protect their home and confront the ominous threat lurking among them. With the press conference concluded, Hegemon and Vörher withdrew to the confines of their secure laboratory, the impending crisis looming heavily over their shoulders. The room itself basked in sterile, white light, mirroring the brothers' sense of isolation and vulnerability in stark contrast to the world outside.

Vörher: "I've created a new substance, and it shows immense promise, reacting remarkably well with the TRAIT vials."

Hegemon, still harboring apprehension, raised a quizzical brow.

Hegemon: "You do realize this might be a terrible idea, right?"

Vörher: "Yes, but if we succeed, we could propel this technology beyond our wildest expectations."

Curiosity piqued, Hegemon approached Vörher, who held a vial containing a mysterious black and white glowing substance.

Hegemon: "How did you create this?"

Vörher: "I infused emotion into one of the liquids that had no trait throughout, and it latched onto an emotion when it was connected to my body."

Hegemon observed intently as Vörher opened the vial and poured the mysterious liquid onto his hand, his eyes narrowing with curiosity and the weight of the discovery settling in.

Hegemon: "Can you clarify what this is supposed to accomplish?"

Vörher: "From my tests, it seems to allow you to physically manifest the Traits."

Skepticism remained etched on Hegemon's features as he sought further information.

Hegemon: "Physically? How so?"

Vörher guided Hegemon to a secluded corner of the lab and retrieved a dark blue vial.

Hegemon: "You believe this new Catalyst can stand against a creature like that? I still think we should defer to the military."

Vörher: "Do we have the luxury of waiting for them while our time ticks away? I don't want to take that risk, and neither should you."

With unwavering determination, Vörher opened the dark blue vial, revealing a luminous catalyst.

Vörher: "Now, try to channel the power of defense more physically."

Hegemon, still grappling with doubt, raised his hand, ready to explore this newfound ability.

Hegemon: "You mean, create an object using the Trait?"

Vörher: "Yes, by harnessing the power of the Trait and utilizing the Catalyst, theoretically, you should be able to manifest something through your ability. These Traits aren't complete yet, so they can't function independently. The Catalyst is designed to enhance your ability's output. All that's needed is your understanding of how it should work, and then you can potentially wield that power for various defensive purposes."

Intrigued and cautiously hopeful, Hegemon contemplated the possibilities.

Hegemon: "So, you're suggesting that if I can envision it, I can bring it into existence?"

Vörher: "Precisely. However, using a defense-based technique for offense might result in potent damage, given the nature of the Trait."

With a thoughtful look in his eyes, Hegemon clenched his fist, and the dark blue luminescent substance responded to his intent, shaping a small, hand-held shield around his arm.

Hegemon: "So, you're saying that if I can conceive it, I can achieve it?"

Vörher: "Well, in a sense, yes, but you have a limited number of vials. The more potent or complex the object you aim to create, the greater the amount of liquid required. If you keep your creations straightforward, you can likely manage within reasonable limits."

Hegemon stared at the shimmering shield enveloping his arm, a mixture of amazement and concern reflected in his eyes. The untapped potential was astounding, but so were the perils that accompanied it.

Hegemon: "This is astounding, Vörher, but equally perilous. We must exercise extreme caution with this power. If it falls into the wrong hands..."

Vörher: "I understand, Hegemon. That's why we must be the ones to master it. We cannot entrust the military or anyone else to deal with this threat. We comprehend it better than anyone."

As Hegemon attempted to dismiss the shield with a mere thought, it dissolved into thin air, leaving the vial empty, yet the residual power lingered.

Vörher: "However, it also means we have a long road ahead in understanding and controlling this power. We need further testing, Catalyst refinement, and training to wield it effectively."

Hegemon: "I'm aware. But time is not on our side. Besides, how do we even locate that monster?"

Uncertainty hung in the air as the brothers grappled with their newfound capabilities and the impending peril. Vörher's revelation about the creature's motivations added a layer of complexity to their already perilous predicament. Returning to the refuge of their laboratory, the weight of responsibility hung heavily in the air. The room, with its stark, sterile environment, offered a stark contrast to the chaos that had enveloped the city beyond. Here, amid the hum of machinery and the scent of chemicals, the brothers pondered the formidable challenge that lay ahead.

Vörher: "I've been monitoring its movements for some time now. It has been causing havoc in the city. I believe it's drawn to intense emotional energy, which is why it's been targeting populated areas in search of something."

The gravity of their situation descended upon them like a somber veil, the burden of confronting a creature of such malevolence pressing upon their shoulders. As Hegemon adorned himself with the Catalyst and vials, securing them around his arm, he couldn't ignore the risks that came with this newfound power.

Hegemon: "Very well. Let's hope your assessment is correct. Just find a safe place to observe and take notes. It's better if only one of us confronts it."
