Chapter 1: The Whole World Transmigrated
Lui Zhi was still in his pajamas after a long day at work. His small room was cluttered with the essentials of everyday life. A narrow bed was tucked into one corner, and a modest desk stood in front of him. Above the desk, an old picture of his late mother and father served as a constant reminder of the family he had lost. Lui Zhi, an average-sized man with a slim, short stature, green eyes, curling black hair, and fair skin, had been residing in the bustling coastal city of Seagrove when his life took a bewildering turn.
Lui Zhi couldn’t shake his tiredness as the minutes ticked by. He’d spent the entire day at his desk job, and all he wanted was a good night’s sleep. He had no idea that peace and quiet were not in his future that evening.
Lui Zhi was not the only one who had this weird encounter, people were disappearing from their familiar settings and reappearing in different places all across the planet. It was as if they had been snatched from one reality and thrown into another with no warning or explanation. As he fell into a deep slumber, Lui Zhi was blissfully ignorant of this developing phenomena.
As the night became darker, he moved in his sleep, uneasy, and was startled awake by the sense of cold, hard earth beneath him. He wiped his eyes and gazed around, puzzled trying to make sense of his circumstances. “How did I get on the ground?” he murmured, his words departing his lips in a state of sleepiness.
As he studied his new surroundings, reality hit him like a ton of bricks. He was no longer in his small, cramped Seagrove room. Instead, he found himself in the middle of a unending desert. The oppressive heat pressed down on him, and the awareness that he was far from home sent shivers down his spine.
“Where am I?” Lui Zhi’s voice trembled as he spoke to himself, his sense of confusion growing. He’d never seen anything like this area before, and the sensation of bewilderment was tremendous.
He rose up, dusting the sand from his clothes and staring about in awe. A decaying mud brick home in the distance was slowly falling into the desert sand. It seemed to have been abandoned for decades, with broken walls and damaged windows. As Lui Zhi got closer, he couldn’t help but ponder about the strange events that had led him to this barren location.
“Hello, is there anyone here?” Lui Zhi shouted his voice booming over the desolate terrain. He strained his ears, expecting for a reaction, but all he heard was the desert’s silent.
Lui Zhi entered the decaying mud structure, his footsteps echoing in the empty area, frustrated and puzzled. The interior was equally as bleak as the outside, with indications of neglect and deterioration visible in every area. He examined the mud walls, wondering who had lived here and why they had left.
A strange and surprising image emerged before him as he examined the decaying structure. In front of his eyes, a translucent, luminous window emerged in the air. It was a system window, presenting data that confused Lui Zhi even more. The banner on the system window predicted the trials and adventures that lie ahead: “Welcome to the World of Transmigration. Your adventure has only just begun.”
Lui Zhi had no option but to accept the truth of his condition and go on a mission to solve the secrets of this new universe in which he had mysteriously found himself, with a creased brow and a heart full of anxiety.
