New beginnings
Janice POV
Its been a long 4 months but I’m making it. My girls have been there for me through the whole summer but we’re about to start our senior year now... They’re going to be going out and enjoying their last year in school while I’m stuck here. I haven’t thought about Dillon that often but I do still miss him... I just can’t believe he would deny his child after all we’ve been through. I hope that new chick he’s with is what he really wants... I don’t want another chick to have to go through what I went with through. Mrs. Robinson has been helping me out alot and I’ve been going through a therapist. I was depressed the first two months but I’m better now. The therapist is just giving me someone to talk to. I moved out of my parents house and got myself an apartment in a good neighborhood for me and the baby. My parents said they will be there to help if I need anything but I just needed a sense of responsibility since I’m going to be a mother soon. I guess its time to see where this life will take me...
Camille’s Pov
“It finally happened!!!! TAMI WE’RE SENIORSSSSS!!!! We made it!“, I screamed, jumping up and down on my bed. It’s the first day of our senior year and Tamika spent the night over so we could get ready together.
“I KNOOOOWWWW!“, Tamika screamed back. “I can’t BELIVE IT!”
“Goodmorning girls!“, My mom called, knocking on the door and walking in. “You guys are sure excited this morning.”
“Goodmorning mom!” “Morning Mrs. J!“, Tamika and I said in unison.
“Breakfast is almost ready. School starts in an hour so yall might want to start getting ready if you want to eat. You know how long yall take.“, She called, walking out.
I chose to be simple and cute for the first day. I pulled on some plain jeans and the new black and white striped crop tee that I bought during the summer and grabbed my white converse. I went to the vanity mirror and did my hair and makeup. I pulled my hair back and put on some red lipstick and grabbed my backpack. I made sure that I had everything ready then checked to see if Tamika was ready. She was wearing distressed jeans, a beige cropped sweater and her gray toms. We both looked really cute. She grabbed her backpack and we walked downstairs to eat breakfast. My dad was sitting down at the table and drinking coffee. He delayed his trip to Venezuela to see me off on my first day of my last year.
“Goodmorning dad!“, I said, kissing his cheek.
“Goodmorning babygirl. Goodmorning Tamika.“, He said, setting his coffee down.
“Goodmorning Mr. Jones!“, She replied, sitting down.
“Are you girls set for your first day?“, My mom asked as she made our plates.
“Yess! But I’m also nervous.“, I said, grabbing some orange juice.
“Why nervous?“, My dad asked.
“Well because... this is it. The beginning to the end...“, I trailed off.
‘Welcome to new beginnings...’, I thought as I took a bite of my omelet.
I walked to the administration office with Tamika and Janice to pick up our schedules. I hope we have some classes together this year.
“Goodmorning girls.“, The secretary, Mrs. Williams, greeted as we approached her desk. “Ready for your last year?”
“Yes ma’am.“, we replied in unison.
“Here are your schedules.“, She said, holding them out. As I reached for them, two hands wrapped around my waist at the same time that Tamika screamed. I turned around and Jeremy and Garland were standing there grinning like idiots.
“Jeremyyy!!!“,I screamed, wrapping my arms around him and hugging him tight.
“Hey babygirl.“, He replied, kissing my forehead. I missed him so much!
“Alright you four! Cut that out.“, Mrs. Williams said, laughing. As star athletes of the school, we get treated special so we’re pretty cool with the staff. We all got our schedules and then compared them. I have 1st period varsity cheerleading with Tamika, 2nd period AP English IV with Jeremy, 3rd period AP Chemistry with Tamika and Garland, 4th period Pre-Ap Pre- Calculus with Tamika and Jeremy, 5th period Theatre Arts with Janice, 6th period Spanish IV, and 7th period Dance IV with Tamika. We all have lunch together again this year so that’s good. We said our goodbyes then me and Tamika headed to cheerleading while Jeremy went to basketball and Garland to football. Janice had art her first period now instead of cheerleading and I saw the sadness in her face as she walked away.

“Okay that’s good ladies. Drink some water then we’ll work on our cheers.“, I said as I walked to the bleachers. I had us running laps for the first 10 minutes of class to stay in shape. After every hydrated, we met back up in the middle of the gym. “Ok as you all know, the varsity football team has their first game this Saturday night.” I paused as the girls cheered. “We were thinking about doing a pep-rally Friday night to get the crowd hype before the game. What do you guys think?” They let out another loud cheer. “Ok perfect so we need to start planning. Me and Tamika will work on the games and activities for the classes to compete in. Who wants to do food?”
“My dad can cater for us.“, Natalie said. He owns a couple of barbecue restaurants.
“Ok that’s perfect. What about entertainment?“, I asked.
“I can get us fireworks and we have the band.“, said Jessica.
“And the dance team can perform.“, Tamika offered.
“Great so around 7?“, I asked. I got a collect of yeahs and thats greats.“Ok. We can start making things to decorate the gym tomorrow. Let’s run through ‘We’re the Bulldogs.’

Finally its lunchtime! I walked with Tamika and Jeremy from Calculas to the cafeteria to find Garland and Janice. When we reached the cafeteria, Garland was already sitting at our usual table. When he saw us walking towards him, he got up and we all went in the line together where Janice was waiting. The boys paid for our food then we walked back to the table.
“How is everyone’s first day going?“, Tamika asked as we starting eating.
“Good. Football team is getting ready for Saturday.“, Garland replied.
“Same. Basketball team prepping for our season already. What about you girls?“, asked Jeremy.
“Great! The cheerleading squad is planning a peprally for Friday night in support of the game.“,I exclaimed.
“And we’re having the dance team preform. I can’t wait to work on new routines with the girls!!“, Tamika squealed.
“OMG I know!!! We haven’t danced together since the end of the year.“, I squealed back.
“What are y’all doing after school?“, Garland asked.
“Camille and I are going to Janice’s. Do you guys want to come?“, Tamika asked.
I looked over at Janice who had her head down. She’s been really quiet all day and I know that being around couples has been had for her. She’s starting to show and I know people are wondering why she had to quit the cheerleading squad her senior year. “Sorry guys, I think we need a break from y’all. I just want to eat junk food with my girls and talk about you.“, I said jokingly.
“Camille’s right. You girls should have fun. We can go to the park after school G.“, Jeremy said before taking a bite from his food.
“Sounds good.“,Garland said, finishing his food.
“Thank you.“, Janice silently mouthed to me and I nodded my head in an understanding.

Janice POV
We stopped by my favorite chinese place before going to my house and the smell of the food had my baby kicking! I’m so ready to eat. As soon as we parked I rushed to the kitchen and started handing out containers of orange chicken and fried rice while Camille took out the movies and Tamika took snacks out of her bag.
“What are you in the mood to watch hunnie?“, Camille said holding up the movies.
“Anything about sexy werewolves.“, I said, chewing my food.
“Twilight marathon it is!“, she announced as she put in the first movie. “We’ll start the movies after we eat.” She grabbed her food and sat down with me and Tamika.
“How was the first day back with the cheer team?“, I asked as I continued to eat. “I’ve been avoiding seeing them all day.”
“Without you there? It was horrible. Not the same without you.“, Camille replied between bites.
“Yeah I miss being there actually.“, I said laughing. “Did the girls say anything?”
“They all asked about you of course but I didn’t go into detail. It’s not my story to tell...but they said they miss you! You were the best co- captain with Camille. I don’t know how I will live up to the expectations. We’re having a pep-rally on Friday night. You should come help us set-up!“, Tamika exclaimed. “I’m sure the squad would love to see you.”
“That’s cool... but I don’t know. I may just skip the whole pep-rally altogether”, I replied looking at my food.
“Oh come on Jan! You are still one of the most popular girls at our school. You have to come.“, Camille chastised.
“That was before I got pregnant. What if they don’t think of me the same?“, I mumbled, biting my lip.
“Noone’s going to judge you babygirl. They know what kind of person you are. And if they do, so what. You’re better than them and you know your girls are always here for you. “, Tamika said, lifting my head up.
“And you can get the girls from the group to come with you. Jazzy, Miranda, and Tayler.“, Camille said. “You and Tayler need to get out of the house to clear your heads.”
“True... thanks girls. I’ll definitely be there.“, I said, taking the last bite of my food.
“Good. But anyway what’s new with you?“, Tamika said, finishing her food.
“I find out the gender of the baby in 2 months.“, I said, rubbing my belly.
“AWWWWWW!“, Camille and Tamika cooed.
“And my therapy is going really well. I finally stopped blaming myself for Dillon leaving”, I finished.
“Wow babe! Im so proud of you!“, Camille said as they both hugged me.
“Thanks guys.“, I said, hugging them back. “Now let’s go watch Taylor Lautner’s sexiness on the screen.” We all laughed then stretched out on the couches with snacks as I played the movie.
By the time Breaking Dawn Part 2 went off, it was almost 10:30. The girls helped me clean up and then went home. I’m glad they stopped by tonight. I missed my girls. I grabbed my blanket and my favorite stuffed animal and curled up in my recliner to watch Lifetime Movie Network. Maybe this year won’t be so bad afterall.
