Prologue
It was strange, what happened in the aftermath of the Event. Time seemed to slow, warping like a melting clock before shooting forwards, faster and faster, gaining momentum like a bike loosed down a hill. All that she could remember was the ambulance showing up, sirens wailing like a petulant child, flashing lights resembling lollipops shining with brilliance.
It all came in flashes: the ambulance ride; the ER; then finally, rest. She knows that this is when they put her under to tend to her wounds, but still she is grateful for this respite from torment of her brain.
A lot of people would say that she was what caused the event. But she believes that it was all the stresses of life that led up to it. To her snapping. But to be sure, we’ll need to go back to the very beginning. So let’s jump in and start, shall we?
