His

Kurama offers the Mazoku a smile as he joins him in front of the second story window. "Getting cold feet?" The fox asks teasingly as he looks over the wedding preparations.

Yusuke snorts and shakes his head. "Nah, me and Keiko are happening, I've always known that." Leaning his shoulder against the glass Yusuke glances at his red haired companion. "Just thinking…" Seeing Kurama's lips twitch in amusement Yusuke punches the older boy's shoulder. "Shut up."

The avatar chuckles but doesn't comment as he examines his friend. He knew whatever it was bothering Yusuke wouldn't stay bottled up for long, it was simply a matter of waiting for the self-proclaimed punk to voice his thoughts. They stand in comfortable silence for a few minutes before Yusuke finally begins talking once more.

"I can't see it- them being gone." Yusuke comments, his eyes slightly dull as he motions beneath them to the wedding party. "But we only got a couple of years before it's over, what then?"

Kurama lets out a silent sigh as he moves closer to Yusuke and wraps his arms around the boy's waist, letting his chin drop onto Yusuke's shoulder as he offers comfort through his embrace. "Then we will move on, never forgetting but not allowing ourselves to become stagnate. There's always something out there, even one as old as I find myself surprised and entertained occasionally."

Yusuke grins, knowing that he was responsible for most of Kurama's surprises and entertainment these past couple of years. "So you promise you won't go crawl in a hole and die?" When your mom dies. Was the silent ending that neither were willing to voice aloud.

"I somehow doubt you'd let me."

"Damn right." Yusuke agrees, leaning back against Kurama as the fox tightens his grip. "You're stuck with me."

Kurama hmms in agreement before letting loose a chuckle as something down-below catches his attention. "Hiei's here."

Yusuke laughs and shakes his head as the Forbidden Child glares up at their window from his place by Shizuru and Kurama's mom. "Sneaky fox, using Yukina to lure him here, I'd sleep with one eye open tonight."

"I'll be sure to have my guard plants extra cautious for the next few days." Kurama agrees amusedly. Neither boy turn as the human member of their team joins them.

Kuwabara eyes his friends but doesn't comment on their positions as he motions to the door. "It's time Urameshi, and Keiko said she'll kill you if you're late."

"Yeah, yeah, not even married and the bitch's already nagging me." Yusuke grumbles, no real heat in his words as Kurama pulls away from their embrace. Running a hand through his hair Yusuke gives a curt nod. "Right let's get this over with." He states finally ambling towards the door.

Kurama watches the Mazoku go silently before locking gazes with Kuwabara. The psychic was giving him a knowing look and Kurama tilted his head in acknowledgement before joining the human as they followed Yusuke's path. For now they would live out their human existence, Shuichi would remain dutiful to his mother's happiness and Yusuke would serve as Keiko's husband. They had a few years to go before this life ended and then… Well, then Yusuke would be his. Foxes were patient creatures after all, and Kurama always had a plan.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
