The pumpkin in the patch
It was an early October almost Halloween and I sat alone in that patch, all of my siblings were adopted but no one wanted me. I see people pass by me without a glance. I sigh a heavy sigh and fall fast asleep. Months go by and new siblings grow but still, no one wants me. Years pass and I have gone bad now I know for sure no one would want me. I close my eyes for the last time and through my eyelids, I see a dark figure. I open my eyes to see an elderly woman she spoke softly to me saying “I see that you are old and all alone like me, when I was but a child I remember walking past this patch with my mother and she had left me here, so let’s be alone together what do you say?” I began to weep and close my eyes again once more as she picks me from the ground. I finally wasn’t alone.
