Summary

[Book 2 of The Canterbury Tales] With his impending marriage to Lady Daphne Westcott and his injuries completely healed, Albert Altham, Lord Canterbury, has managed to put the events of last May behind him. That is, until two children stagger to his doorstep on Christmas Eve, 1926. One boy and one girl, the boy badly injured and the girl mute from shock. Canterbury has no choice but to take the case to the local authorities. But when it is promptly dismissed, Canterbury must take it into his own hands again to investigate. And when he comes across Saint Pancras's Children's Home, with reports of vanished children to go along with it, his strong sense of morality steers him to dig in further, leading him into the dark turns of a mind that is unlike anything he has ever seen. It not only tests his resolve, but forces him to confront a secret his family took to the grave-and ultimately changes the course of his future. Preliminaries

Hi there!

So this is book 2, hooray! I wanted to mention that before I introduce the new characters, that this installment will have trigger warnings at the beginning of sensitive chapters. This one definitely takes a darker turn, so please be kind to yourself and take note of them. I don't put them there for fun!

Enough about that, though. Our new characters are:

Holliday Grainger as Venetia Sittingbourne

Alexandra Dowling as Lady Diana Bracknell

Jodie Turner-Smith as Madame Chouette

Harry Hadden-Paton (surprise!) as Denzel Coyle

Jude Hill as (young) Miles
