Where's the grave? (Chapter 1)
That night light rain wet the footpath on the outskirts of Jakarta. You could see puddles glistening in the light of people's houses that were huddled together. That night the cold air felt very piercing, even the warm clothes I was wearing did not warm my body at all.
At 23.46 WIB.
As usual I came home from my place of work. The atmosphere that night was very quiet, maybe because it was late and it was drizzling a little, I thought, so people preferred to stay in the warmth of the house. I quickened my footsteps so I could quickly arrive at my boarding house. It was a very tiring day, so many people came to the restaurant where I worked that my feet seemed to never stop walking. I just thought about getting to my boarding house and resting. In fact, I didn't even think about cleaning my body first.
I live with my friend, Aryo, a final semester student who was also my classmate in high school. We were both studying while working, but last month Aryo resigned from his place of work so he could focus more on doing his final college assignment.
When I arrived at the boarding house, I saw Aryo seriously watching television.
"Yo, have you eaten yet? I brought Mas Rasbo's fried rice," Aryo was silent and continued to stare at the television in front of him.
I went to the kitchen. The boarding house we stayed in was shaped like a house with several rooms inside. If you look at it, it's more like a rented house, even like your own house because this is a new building and only the two of us are filling the boarding house.
After taking the plate and spoon I rushed to the television room. I sat some distance from the television so that Aryo looked with his back to me. I'm used to eating while watching television.
While I was busy chewing, I was suddenly startled by Aryo who suddenly laughed loudly. Several times he laughed, even his laughter seemed shrill, deafening to my ears.
"I'm surprised, his television show isn't funny, but how can he laugh so much? Is he chatting with his crush?" I thought to myself.
After finishing my food I rushed to the room. I also took out my cellphone which had been in my bag since the afternoon. I rushed into the room and...
Unlucky!!! I saw Aryo curled up hugging a bolster!
My body, which was already very tired, became even more weak because of that sight. Suddenly I was startled by the vibration of my cellphone and I saw a message notification.
"Bro, I can only come back tomorrow, I'm out of tickets"
I forgot one thing, I was alone at the boarding house because Aryo was returning to his parents' house 3 days ago.
I couldn't do anything anymore, even to scream, my voice was locked. Suddenly my legs became weaker when I heard the sound of "Aryo" laughing which was getting louder and shriller. I turned towards the voice and saw "Aryo" with his back to me and slowly his head started to turn with a very big smile as he said.
"Where's the food?"
