Hi! It’s so nice to finally meet you. I have been looking forward to this for what feels like forever. It must have felt even longer for you. I hope the anxiety isn’t too much. Oh, I’m so sorry, where are my manners? I haven’t even introduced myself yet. It’s just that I don’t get to meet others that often. My name is Rebecca. I would tell you how old I am but for the life of me, I can’t remember. Neither can I remember where exactly I came from. All I remember is a loud noise followed by silence. That should not stand between us anyway. I’ve had friends of all kinds and nobody seemed to care. Maybe it’s my natural beauty that pulls others in. If she were still here, I would ask my mother about this. I believe she died when I was born, but I can’t say for sure since there was no one else around to keep me company for a while. Now enough of all that sad stuff. I am grateful for the life I’ve lived so far and all the beautiful places I got to visit. Maybe one day we can find some of them again together. I tend to go with the flow and discover new places though so no promises.
One thing I’d like to ask of you is to please not stare at me so intensely. It makes me nervous. When I talk it doesn’t come across that well, but I’m very introverted and self-conscious. I know I have an unconventional style, and there is not much I can do about it. The options out there are very limited, and after a while, it all looks and feels the same. What you have here is much more colorful. Do you think it will suit me? Not that it will last for long but I welcome change. So many little rocks of different colors and sizes. I have to be honest, that was one of the things that attracted me to you. Forgive me if that sounds a bit pushy. When you’re out there, wandering all by yourself, you just forget what it’s like to have a real conversation with someone. I’m able to see so much but true connection is so rare for me to find. Oh gosh, I’m rambling again about all of my woes. What do you like to do in your free time?
We have been chatting for a while now and I must say I really like your energy. You have that ability that I love to keep the conversation going no matter how awkward it gets. Time just flies when I’m talking to you. Although I would love for us to hang out forever, I think we both understand the gravity of our situation. Our time together will come to an end at some point. I just want you to know how much I appreciate the time we can still spend together. It feels like you have truly given me the power to keep going. In the back of my mind, you will always be there and a part of who I am. You have given me so much in so little time and I will remember you for as long as I exist.
Here we are. It is time to say goodbye. Thank you so much for being my friend for this brief period. We will not be seeing each other again. You might be gone but the essence of what you are will remain in my heart. Well, I have to move on. Some days, my life looks grim, but I’m looking forward to a brighter future, and more moments like this one. I’m sure they will come. The dark times are always long and strenuous. Yet, it is worth fighting through for those moments like we just had.
He probably couldn’t hear that last little bit anymore, but it’s okay. This time we had, has me in a good mood. I’m feeling revitalized, and I’m ready to meet even more wonderful people and visit even more fantastic places. The universe has so much to offer. There is still so much to do, and there is no time to waste.
