1- The Unexpextected Beginning
Lily’s POV
I just entered the gates of Castlemont high ! Its finally the day ! I’ve heard a lot about the high teaching standards here and have been really eager to join this school , since my father told me about us moving home again.
Yes that’s right , my fathers profession commands us to move cities every 5 yrs and this is my third time of moving.Now I’ve sort of adapted myself to this , and trust me I’m really happy that I got out of my last school.
Yep.I was the one being bullied there.But now I have everything planned . This school is going to be different. I am going to stay in the shadows and out of the queen bees reach and also I am going to get myself a very good friend.Trust me when I am in a god mood I can be the sweetest candy u have ever tasted , and I am going to stick to this attitude here.
As I strolled through the crowded roads carelessly I felt someone presence in front of me.
“Hey , My name is Rebecca”, She said.She was a tall girl with sporty clothes on and a polite smile spread on her face.
“Hi , I am Lily ” , I said shyly trying to stick to the rules I just revised in my mind.
“Are u new here ” , she continued. Yeah....uhmm could u tell me were I would get my time table ? I asked.
" I myself will take u there, I mean if that’s fine by you ” , she said .And started walking towards one of the small building onto the left side of the massive area.
“That would be great” , I replied.After which we soon hurried towards the help desk.
The lady sitting in that room had the brightest smile and a very welcoming manner.
“How can I help you honey”,She asked.
Before I could answer Rebecca held out her hand with a huge grin and added.” Morning Natasha.This is Lily, a new student. Can you pls give her timetable.”
Natasha said cheerfully, “Hi Lily , welcome to castlemont high.I must say you have got yourself a real good friend.” She added throwing a playful smile at Rebecca.
I just smiled and thanked Natasha ,
as I was yet to understand my new friend , and my rules definitely did not encourage me speaking unnecessarily.
“Let’s go” , Rebecca after assessing my timetable and pulling me towards my next class.
As I schemed through my time table I saw that my first two periods were Maths and English followed by a 15 mins break.
“Which class do you have now”, I asked her .“Same as yours” she said while coming to a stop in front of a big brown door .
I was over the moon to see my first class.I opened the room excitedly having not a single hint about the horrific seen that was awaiting.I lean , muscular boy was sitting bestride a rather small guy.The other classmates where cheering the guy loudly saying “common , Blake do it” in very noisy yet united manner.This was definitely ragging.Before I could register the scene the guy astride started punching the one below just like one would hit a punching bag.How could he . It was such a bright morning.In fact the This was the very first period and the positivity and excitement seemed to have lost already.
“Stop !“I shouted unintentionally .The crowd suddenly seem to have lost interest in the scene , as everybody turned to me with an amused expression.
Rebecca’s widened her eyes and whispered in a scared voice , “What did you just do?!!”
Before I could find a reason to my sudden response a tall shadow hoovered over me.I looked up to meet my eyes with a pair off dark bows ones which looked as dark as black maybe due to the anger filled in them.
I was about to apologise when he spoke in a confident , husky voice”Who are you , slut . A new girl here. Or this losers lover? Whoever you are , better stay out of my way , and consider this as your last warning.”
Did he just call me a slut.Wait. have we ever met before for him to decide who I am ? Definitely no lily , my mind said.Well then how can he speak to me like that.
As he turned away from me , closing towards his victim , I let out an agitated sigh and went beside him.In the calmest voice I mustered all my courage and decided to speak for myself .
“Well, Hi I am lily” I said putting my hand out.He gave me a questioning look then ignored me and went back to his punching.
“Wait, I haven’t finished yet.To answer your question I am a sophomore here, and though I am not related to this guy my parents have taught me about humanity and brotherhood and that’s the reason I am going to stop you.I don’t know what’s wrong with all the others or what sort of blinds are they kept hidden in by you but trust me you can’t put me in those”.
He got up again, that’s when I took the chance to help the other guy up who smiled at me thankfully.
His eyes grew darker and he told the the guy whom he just beat , “I guess we are done for the day Will , let’s meet tomorrow.Get out.“The Will guy hurriedly ran out of the room again bringing me in the spotlight.
He then took steps towards me closing the distance between us to almost negligible.I started backing away till I felt a my back hitting a wall.This guy then blocked but my sides with his hand and leaned forward to say “Didn’t I just tell this was your last warning.But you want to speak about humanity nevertheless don’t you , good girl.I think you are new here and don’t know me yet.Better learn about me from your friend before trying to invade my business again.“He said and leaned back , moving towards the exit harshly.
Before anybody could react to what just happened , the bell rang signalling the start of the first period.Which left everyone with no option but to return to their seats. , which I was thankful for, but I guess Rebecca wasn’t as she nudged me shaking her head vigorously , and asked me to talk to her immediately after the lecture ends.
By the time the professor entered , I had found a comfortable seat for myself near the window.My favourite.The professor introduced me to the class and I tried to smile brightly and keep my profile straight , but it was in vain after my prior actions.
I couldn’t help but focus on replaying the previous incident in my mind instead of paying attention to the class.Now it slowly dawned on me...I had just broken my rules on the freaking first day .How did I end up putting myself in this trouble after my terribly experience in my last school.Now when I am thinking on the others reaction , the boy whom I opposed just have definitely been a popular and rich guy here.And the poor me who was supposed to stay out of trouble and complete my graduation peacefully ended up messing up before it even started.I definitely can’t change my school again.No.Not so early.What will mom dad think.Their child is week enough to not even sustain the best school peacefully.
These thoughts left me feeling bitter and I must have scowled without meaning to as the professor interrogated, “Is something wrong Lily, You are able to catch up with the pace right.”
“Everything is fine sir” I said which I knew was a complete lie.I knew I had just dug a hole for myself having no idea how to get out of it.
This is not how I had planned my first day.The productive lesson ,and my safe shell didn’t even get a chance .This is definitely very different , a very unexpected beginning.
