Chapter 1 - Keep Your Brothers Close
Ivan Burton stared at the Silver Alert about an unidentified woman found wandering the State Park. He hit the call button.
“I am calling about the Silver Alert. The woman is Delia Sloan, age 68, from Hernwood Heights. She is my mother,” he said.
Ivan tamped down his emotions as he packed. He delegated duties to the management teams at his company and his ranch. He reserved three spaces for his travel trailer, pickup, and motorcycle at an RV park near his mother’s home. Ivan hired a local family law attorney.
When he could no longer avoid it, Ivan called his future brothers in Serenity, Wyoming, Population 27. “Guys. I am going to see the mother who disowned me 23 years ago.”
