Chapter 1
I stared at my hand, the plain, smooth pale skin untouched, exsept the scars I had on my nuckcles. I scanned my hands, they were plain ordinary hands. Except that they weren’t I had demon blood coursing through my veins. All my freinds had ran away from me screaming, “demon!” As fire swarmed from my hands. My best freinds stayed. Mia was tall, blonde, blue eyed, and was shy and quiet, and Ava was a little kid on a sugar high. She had coal silky black hair, that flowed down her back, down to her ankles. She had warm, gorgeous brown eyes, and was actuly really short. They were with me no matter what. My hands seemed so normal, but knowing the truth… it hurt.
Just earlier this morning at breakfast with my mother, down in the cafe she owned, she casually drops the ‘hey hon, you know the dad that ran out on us when you were born…’ card on me, well here’s the thing, he DID, and he went to the flippin under world! He is flipping Hades, and my mom is Persephone. My mom, a really gorgeous woman, with warm, dark red hair, and green eyes, was a flippin goddess. I mean, I did alwayse say she looked pretty enough to be a goddess, but I never thought she would be. My mother thought that since I turned 17, I would be able to handle the fact that I was a half breed goddess, and the fact that I get new powers, like shadow leaping, or plantation growth. It seemed so weird. Once a year now, I would be able to go to the underworld with ma, and see dad.
I had lost control of my emotions, and my hands blew up In flames.
So, this is what happened, Mialian Scoutt was starting more crap with all my friends, and I. She was talking about our broken families, (my missing dad, Mia’s missing Mom, and both of Ava’s parents(she lives with her Nona.)) She started bloating to us that she has a healthy relationship with her parents, and she has both her parents, and just made me furious. My hands blazed intii oh flames, and everyone started running away. I ran to the bathrooms as swiftly as I in could to put the fire out. It kinda worked. I evaporate half of the water in the sink tho, and my hands were still super hot. Like, third degree burns, hot.
Mia and Ava came in a few minutes later.
“Red, are you in here?” Ava called, knocking on the stall I was in.
“Yeah?” I called back.
“Sooo… that was cool.” Mia said, shyly.
“Do you mind telling us how the fuck you did that?” Ava asked. I sighed, unlocking the bathroom door, and going out. They looked at me with so much concern.
“I’m a Goddess…” I told them hesitantly. They gaped at me.
“Goddess of what?” Ava snapped in shock.
“I’m Persephone’s and Hades daughter, weird isn’t it?” I asked, giggling sheepishly.
“Awesome!” Ava shreeked, hugging me.
“Show me something!” Mia asked. I nodded, and pointed my hand at the toilet paper role. I glared at it, and In a few seconds, it was beginning to smoke, then sudenly, with one more push, it blew up in flames.
“Wow!” Mia, and Ava shreeked.
