August: Prologue
As August rolls in, the summer is winding down and a new school year is set to begin. The memories of summer are now stored in he memory bank and people cannot wait for another summer to come abound. But one thing about August is that it’s a reality check month. The world that we lived in for the summer months is nothing compared to what’s about to come.
Think of August like being free from a prison or detention. Instead of that place being rotten and cruel, it was a fun atmosphere to be a part of. Now, you find yourself in an area that you feel unprepared for because you haven’t experienced it after a while. How do you handle that feeling of being unsure of adjustment because you were caught in something for reasons you got yourself into? Our next story deals with the feeling of being wanted in a world no one expected to find. It’s also a story of finding redemption and an opportunity to escape the past while also embracing the new journey.
August: Dean Skylark & Kimmy Zabinski (The Protector)
Dean Skylark was a bully in school. But no one felt his wrath more than nerdy and shy Kimmy Zabinski. Dean made her life a living hell all throughout the years in school. Life then turned for Dean when he was arrested for drugs and gang-related violence and sentenced to prison.
With an opportunity to shorten his sentencing, Dean is asked by the state warden to help out his niece out of a bad situation. As it turns out, the warden’s niece was Kimmy, who is now working as a stripper and is also in a bad relationship. In order for Dean to help Kimmy, he first must change himself and convince her that he isn’t the same bully while also maintaining his newfound feelings for her.
