Chapter 1

It was early in the morning, too early really, I feel so weak like I can’t move a muscle. I can’t move anything, that’s weird. I open my eyes just to see trees all around me, like the trees are trying to suffocate me. Once I opened my eyes fully, all I saw were leaves covering the forest floor. I sat up not knowing what was happening to me. All I remember last night was that I had this huge argument with my roommate and that I just wanted to get out of the dorm away from everything. The thing is that when I went outside it started raining hard, but I still wanted to be out even if it wasn't raining, I didn’t want to be in that dorm with someone who I found cheating on me in the hallway with one of my friends, so I wandered off not knowing where I was going at first until I realized I was headed towards the forest. Once I got there I then sat underneath one of the big trees. One thing that I didn’t know was that there was lightning too. Once I sat underneath the big tree I heard the lightning strike , but what I didn't know was that the lightning struck the tree that I was underneath. After it struck everything went blank. And that was it from what I remember. I’m now sitting up thinking when I rudely hear a noise coming from the bush making me come out of my thoughts and now this is real life.

“Hello!” I said. No answer.

“Hello! Is there someone there?” I said again with confusion. Yet still no answer.

Somehow my body was now moving towards the sound. There I was standing in front of the bush. I crouched down not knowing what I was doing. I move the sticks that were in the way, until I met with eyes. Eyes that were looking straight at me like I was a prey, I launch back not knowing what to do. I'm on my back in a sitting position with my legs all sprawled out. I sit there dumbfounded by what I just saw. After a while I get my mind back on track and slowly walk towards the bush again. At first I didn't even know what I was doing until I was now in front of the bush. I'm now on my knees still scared of what’s going to happen next. For some reason I then make a move towards the branches to move them out of the way to reveal a small boy. I want to say something but my mouth is so dry that no words are coming out of it.

“Ummm, Hi.” I say with both a shock and clueless expression on my face.

I'm still shocked. Right now I don't know what to think. I first find myself in the forest, now I'm crouched down looking at a boy. There’s silence between the both of us. I finally fix myself.

”What am I going to say?” I ask myself.

“What am I going to say?” I ask myself again.

After some time, I then think carefully. I finally fix myself again, and I look the boy right in the eyes. Before I say anything I look at it up and down until I hear a whimper coming from it. I'm assuming that its hurt, because only people or animals whimper if they are hurt. I then relax myself a bit.

“What hurts?” I ask patiently

“m-m-my a-a-an-ankl-ankle.” Said the boy holding his leg

I look around all to see sticks, leaves and rocks. I think of a way to help but nothing comes to mind. After some time, out of the corner of my eye I then see something shining, then quickly get up and head over to a tree only to see some kind of backpack. I quickly get on my hands and knees and start to unzip the backpack to see paper, pencil, rope, a first aid kit, and a pair of scissors. I must have brought this with me here but I don’t remember but once I saw the first aid kit I quickly grabbed it and ran back to where the boy was to bandage his ankle up. After bandaging his ankle, I then walked back to where the backpack is and picked it up and then make my way to the boy. Once I came back, I sat in front of the boy and waited. We are there in silence for a while until I brake it by asking:
