Bedridden

I wait patiently for you to come out. I always see you reading or just in your room but I always wonder if you had any friends. You never left your room but why was it that the only time you enjoy the outside, the only time you were allowed that this had to happen? I remember the joy on your face, when you got to walk around in the sun. The smile on your face was as bright as the sun itself. As we walked down the path to the ice cream store, you rambled on about the flavours you wanted to try. Why did you have to run from me? Why did you decide you would never return to me? A person in a long, hospital white coat comes out of the room, I guess it's the doctor. The last I hear of you is that you were in a coma. I head inside to see you surrounded in wires with a oxygen mask on your face. I wish you were awake again. All this time, you managed to keep a smile on your face and always occupied yourself even though you were paralysed. I wish you could exprience the wonders that I have. Why was it that the day you finally were able to walk that this had to come along? Why do tragedies like these happen to you? You were as white as the walls that hid your existence. I can only wish you would wake up from your coma. I stay by your side a little longer
