Sophie
"Are you actually fucking kidding me right now?" I scream slamming my hand on the dash in front of me.
"Stop screaming." Porter grits out through his teeth.
"This is about her. It's always about her!" I scream again.
"This is about me, Sophie. Jesus fucking Christ. Do you ever think about what I might need?" He spits glaring at me.
He hates me. I know this. I think he always has but I am a body to warm his bed at night.
"We're having a baby in six weeks!"
"We can do that in separate apartments. We aren't together Sophie. How many times do I need to tell you this?" He sounds exasperated. His knuckles white on the wheel from clenching it.
"Keep reminding me. Please. I live to hear about how I am nothing compared to your precious Calla, but where is she Porter? She's not here!" My voice cracks and I glare at him.
"Stop talking." He warns.
"No. I won't. I put your ass through therapy when she broke your heart again. I was there!" My angers bubbling over now. I want to punch some sense into his beautiful face.
"She isn't the reason I used." Lies. It's all fucking lies. All the time. I am so sick of it. I growl and grab the wheel. Yanking hard. "What the fuck? Let go!" He shouts. I don't. I yank it again. "Are you fucking insane?" He yells looking at me with wide eyes.
In this moment, I think I might be. But all sense leaves me when something collides with us. Sending us over the ledge of the mountain. The car somersaulting too many times. I try to force my eyes open, air into my lungs but I can't.
In this moment I let go. I let it all go.
I reach for the peace that I deeply desire. More than the life this has turned out to be.
