The cottage

Three miles away from the village of Shallow Woods, there was where an ancient family of vampires lived in a crumbled cottage. The Grands were composed of a female called Ciarra and a male called Ciaran living with their son Lucius. A Legend to be told is that they had been around for centuries, originating from an ancient city called Hadria in Italy It had stunning architecture, including the iconic Hadria Cathedral which showcased exquisite craftsmanship, and boasted a thriving culinary scene with numerous restaurants serving authentic Italian cuisine.

In the heart of Hadria, their love story unfolded as a testament to the power of love to transcend time and overcome the darkest of circumstances. The city was where their captivating love story was created. The couples navigated in its dark streets creating an eternal life due to their supernatural abilities. Their bond was growing stronger with each passing night and the city became their playground.

They reveled in shared immortality with a growing thrill of the hunt. Their love was at the same time passionate and restrained, as they must hide their true nature from the unsuspecting humans around them. It was in the shadows of Hadria that their love story capitalized on the enduring power of love to persist even in the darkest of circumstances.

As the moon rose over Hadria, they found solace in each other’s arms. The darkness of the night only served to accentuate the vibrant glow of the city, making it even more captivating. Ciaran was tall, had pale skin and jet-black hair with piercing red eyes glowing in the darkness. He was dressed in a tailored black suit, giving him an air of elegance and sophistication. Whereas Ciarra was shorter, with a slender build and a graceful demeanor. Her skin was also pale, but her hair was long and silver, cascading down her back. Her eyes were a mesmerizing shade of amber, adding to her ethereal beauty.

Ciarra was wearing a flowing, midnight blue gown that seems to shimmer in the moonlight. She had a charming appearance with her long black hair and piercing red eyes. She was constantly wearing an opulent gown, adorned with intricate lace and shimmering sequins. The dress hugged her figure and accentuated her slender waist and graceful curves. The bodice was embellished with delicate silver embroidery, adding a touch of elegance to the ensemble. Her long, flowing sleeves cascaded down to the marbles of the floor, creating an ethereal effect as she moved. To complete her look, she wore a stunning necklace with a large, sparkling gemstone which added a touch of glamour to her extravagant outfit.

Whereas Ciaran had a rugged appearance with sharp fangs and pale skin. He exuded an air of sophistication in his attire as he wore a tailored black suit, perfectly fitted to his muscular frame. The jacket featured a high collar and silver buttons, adding a touch of regality to his ensemble. Beneath the jacket, he wore a crisp white shirt, accentuated by a black silk bowtie. His trousers, also black, were impeccably pressed and fell neatly over his polished shoes. Completing the outfit, he wore a black cape, lined with red velvet, which billowed behind him as he moved, adding a dramatic flair to his attire.

However, their love was not without its challenges since they must constantly resist the temptation to give in to their primal instincts. They shared a deep understanding of each other’s desires and fears since they were the fruits of a cursed tree. Their connection transcended the boundaries of mortality, and the shadows of the streets were the sanctuary where they could be their true selves. In their secret hideaway, they found refuge from the bright world outside. With each stolen kiss and whispered promise, their love grew stronger, defying the limitations of their immortal existence. Despite the darkness surrounding their existence, their love brought light to the city of Hadria.

“The lovers of Hadria” were a beacon of hope in a world filled with shadows, as a reminder that even in the midst of chaos, love can conquer all. Their bond was unbreakable and forged through centuries of shared experiences and trials. The city where they met was a perfect place to create lasting memories. They used to roam the ancient streets, with their immortal eyes absorbing the history surrounding them.

The moonlit nights spent together were filled with whispers of the past, as they explored the hidden corners and secret passages of the city. Each encounter with a human was a delicate dance, as they navigated the fine line between temptation and restraint. The memories they forged in Hadria were etched into their immortal souls as a testament to the enduring allure of this enchanting city.

The couples were noticed only at night indulging in nocturnal activities by engaging in various forms of entertainment in the city. Showcasing their unique and captivating behavior and spooky appearance that accentuated their mysterious nature. The Grands had a sophisticated demeanor that made them a fascinating addition to the city’s nightlife. Effortlessly blending within the crowd with an elegant attire and mysterious aura adding to the allure of the event. They had impeccable social skills as they calmly mingled while captivating those around in the club who never doubted for an instant that the charming couple are actually vampires.

“a child’s play,” she notified her lover Dorian who was always by her side about how easy it is to pretend to be a human.

“just like that?” he responded with a slight smile.

“ a piece of cake,”

" and where is the cake?” he said while looking over his shoulders in a supreme hunger.

“right in front of us, can’t you see it?” she retorqued after gently pressing of his hand to signify that a prey was captured by her sight.

Driven by its insatiable thirst for blood, the two vampires planned their attack. They stood and waited in the back of the bar for a man of the attendees to go to the restroom when they followed him with eyes as big as their lust. Once captured in a locked room, they proceeded to drain the life force from its prey, ending his existence in a gruesome manner. The painful experience was a testimony to the terrifying power and primal nature of the vampires. However, their captivating presence as they walked out of closed doors left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to witness their nocturnal escapades.

When the dawn was noticed from afar, it was the moment they knew there were no more carts to play since it is a game to be lost. They had to hasten their runs back to the cottage whose original inhabitants were not seen ever since the Grands visited. The house was dimly lit, with cobwebs hanging from the rafters and dust covering every surface. The windows were cracked, allowing cold drafts to seep in. Its air was stale and musty, giving off a distinct scent of decay. In one corner of the attic, there was a creaky bed covered in tattered sheets. Next to it, there was a worn-out wooden table that held a collection of ancient books and vials filled with crimson liquid. On the opposite side, there was a small mirror that never reflected their projection, and they only knew what they look like through each other’s eyes.

Although they were unpleasant with the condition of their dwelling, the cottage was a sanctuary away from the prying eyes of the world outside. It was where they have resided for decades, but it did not befit their refined tastes and they constantly longed for a more comfortable and luxurious abode.

The Grands created a mesmerizing sight of a magical portrayal showcasing a timeless elegance and refined taste as they walked across the streets of Hadria. With every step they made, the two couples exuded an aura of mystery and allure. In one instance, they were seen attending a masquerade ball held at a grand mansion. The masquerade parties were held in a grand ballroom, adorned with elegant chandeliers and intricate tapestries.

The dimly lit ballroom was adorned with flickering candlelight, casting long shadows on the ornate walls. The air was heavy with the scent of aged books and damp earth, adding to the mysterious ambiance. The guests, or rather the humans, were dressed in elaborate costumes and masks. They moved gracefully through the room with whispers barely audible over the haunting melodies played by the orchestra.

The atmosphere suddenly became filled with an air of mystery and excitement as the Grands entered through the ballroom’s door. Their costumes were impeccably tailored, adding an air of sophistication to their haunting allure. They were dressed in elaborate costumes of dark, flowing garments, and made a striking entrance. Their pale skin and piercing gazes added an eerie touch to the festivities.

" Can you believe how elaborate these masks are?” notified Dorian as he stood in the back watching the masses.

“I know, it’s like a competition of who can wear the most feathers and glitter.” responded his wife then added after a puff of a smoke, “and did you see that couple over there? They’re dressed as giant flamingos!”

For their laughter to louden in the corners of the ballroom, the guests looked around, yet they saw no one except for the smoke.

“they’re definitely winning the award for most outrageous costumes” he said with a sarcastic tone in his calming voice.

She leaned on his shoulder to say, “I wonder if they can even see through those beaks.”

“who knows, maybe they’re just blindly following the music,” he uttered in a hymned tone.

Then she distanced from her husband and made cautious moves towards the dance floor, ” Speaking of music, I hope they play some waltz. I want to show off my dance moves.

“Oh, you mean the ones you learned from Janica, before we killed her in her own house but Eh! she had baaad dance moves anyways,”

" Hey, don’t knock it till you’ve seen it. I’m a waltzing pro now,”

“Well, I can’t wait to see you twirl around the dance floor in your mask,” he asserted as he stepped out of the dark to hold her hand to join the dance.

“Just make sure you don’t step on my toes, or I might have to unmask my wrath”

" Oh, I wouldn’t dare.”

“Who would dare?” She asked while they were turning in circles with rush moves while other guests backed away.

They took to the floor with mesmerizing and unsettling movements. The humans watched in a mix of fear and fascination, the Grands leaping with otherworldly grace. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of both dread and awe, as the guests were simultaneously terrified and enthralled by the spectacle before them.

" It’s a good thing this masquerade is all about fun and not about looking graceful.” he notified with the same tone of arrogance.

" let’s just embrace the chaos and enjoy the night.”

In a lucid dance that would be etched into the memories of invitees as a haunting memory of the dark forces that lurk in the shadows. A dance that defied human limitations by displaying their supernatural power. Their eyes were gleaming with a mix of mischief and malevolence and they seemed to revel in the attention.

As the night progressed, the Grands mingled with other party-goers, captivating them with their charm and enigmatic presence. Despite the lovely ambiance, the underlying spookiness of the party left a lingering sense of unease. With an unsettling and captivating presence, they glided amongst the crowd. Their pale skin and piercing gazes sent shivers down the spines of those who dared to meet their eyes. Their movements were fluid and graceful as if they were dancing to a melody only they could hear.

Despite the enchantment of the masquerades they used to attend at night, there was an underlying sense of disapproval constantly lingering in the air. Whispers of caution and trepidation circulated among the humans, as they exchanged wary glances towards them. Although captivating, the couples were a symbol of the darkness that lurked beneath the surface of the festivities. And somehow their presence added an element of danger to the otherwise glamorous affair which created a feeling of unease in the hearts of the attendees. The couples became certain that they have to be very careful at keeping their mask on. Any sudden moves might hinder obtaining a glimpse of heaven.

In another instance, they were spotted at Venice jazz club, reveling in the vibrant atmosphere. With graceful and mesmerizing movements, they were seen swaying to the rhythm of the music. Their presence added an air of mystique to the venue, as they captivated the attention of both the performers and the audience.
