Thanks to my dear friend who made my OC come to life; she produced the perfect image of Siri:

Taehyung and Siri. Siri and Taehyung. You couldn’t find one without the other.

They were both 19 when they first met during an off campus party. Taehyung was studying photography and Siri studying business.

Taehyung wasn’t a fuckboy like his two best friends, Jimin and Jungkook. He was actually a good boy who didn’t drink that much because he didn’t like the taste of alcohol, and he only went to parties because his friends would drag him to them.

Siri was in the same boat as Taehyung. She didn’t like parties but got dragged to them by her friends, too.

Siri and Taehyung connected during a party at the start of their freshman year. She was up on the roof of the house, away from all the noise and nonsense going on. Taehyung had the same idea and made his way up to the roof. He wasn’t expecting anyone to be there and obviously got a surprise when he saw a really pretty brunette with blue eyes sitting up there.

Siri was also surprised to see a cute boy with light blonde hair walking in her direction. He looked like an angel.

“Oh shit– sorry. Didn’t think anyone was up here...” Taehyung licked his lips nervously while his eyes darted around trying to see if there was somewhere else he could go.

“It’s okay. Wanted to get away from the party?” Siri asked him as she bent her knees towards her chest and wrapped her arms around them.

“Yeah... Parties aren’t really my thing,” he replied sheepishly.

“Me too. Come sit!” she patted the spot next to her with a friendly smile.

Taehyung’s heart skipped a beat as he made his way over. He didn’t think he would meet someone who wasn’t into parties like him since it was what people their age do.

“I’m Serena but I go by Siri,” she held out her hand for Taehyung to shake, which he gladly accepted with a boxy smile that made Siri get butterflies.

“Taehyung but my friends call me Tae.”

And that’s how the start of their blooming friendship began. They got to know each other that night; talked about their majors, their hobbies. Talked about their family and friends. Then, when Siri got cold, Taehyung took off his jacket and put it over Siri’s shoulders– which obviously made her blush and it made Taehyung feel all giddy inside seeing the effect he had on her.

He told her to give back his jacket the next time they see each other, and since they forgot to exchange phone numbers, Siri wore Taehyung’s jacket every day for the next week until she found him again.

Truthfully, Taehyung had seen Siri two days after the party but he liked seeing Siri wear his jacket around campus, so he hid from her till the end of the week.

When they did finally meet up again, they exchanged numbers and hung out more. After a month of hanging out, Siri eventually became part of Taehyung’s friend group– much to Taehyung’s dismay. He knew his friends were fuckboys and he didn’t want them hitting on Siri, so he took matters into his own hands and asked her out on a date before his friends could get to her.

Siri obviously said yes because she had been crushing on Taehyung ever since they met.

They were known as the ‘unbreakable’ couple around campus. No matter how many guys or girls flirted with Siri or Taehyung, neither of them gave in and would quickly shut down any advances. They were loyal and they showed everyone they only had eyes for each other.

On campus, their hands were always entwined when they walked together and there was never a day where you wouldn’t see Siri on her tippy toes to kiss Tae’s nose, or see Tae kissing the back of Siri’s hand before they had to part ways to their classes. Taehyung would also find any excuse to have Siri on his lap and she would always feed him during lunch.

They went to the odd party together just to show face and appease their friends, but they never stayed for long. Instead, they would hang out at each other’s place, play games, watch movies or study next to each other, and of course... have sex.

They were actually each other’s first time as well as first love. Siri confessed to Taehyung first while they laid in his bed cuddling. They had been together for two months by that point and she assumed Taehyung was asleep. She whispered quietly to him that she loved him while she gazed at his handsome face. Except he heard her. And then he whispered back he loved her too. It surprised her for a moment but then they ended up cuddling even more and made love one more time that night.

When Jimin and Jungkook realised Taehyung was serious about Siri, they quit their teasing and would come to protect the couple– especially Siri since she was a target for the bitchy females around campus.

If the boys heard any nasty rumours regarding Siri, they would shoot the rumour down straight away. If they saw any girls bully or harass Siri, they would be by her side if Taehyung couldn’t be there. This in turn made Siri become a lot closer to Jimin and Jungkook, and they helped the unbreakable couple become even more unbreakable.

Now, after six happy years together, Taehyung recently discovered that maybe they wouldn’t be so perfect together.

He thought Siri was perfect. He thought they were perfect together and has always loved that they were called the ‘unbreakable’ couple. He even bought Siri an engagement ring a month ago and planned to propose to her on Christmas Day which was in two months.

But he never thought he would end up breaking both their hearts.

He just couldn’t ignore this piece of information he found out about Siri. And the silly thing?

He should’ve seen it coming.

He should’ve known this about her because she never hid this fact about herself. There were obvious signs about it but he didn’t think anything of it.

The problem with Siri? She didn’t want kids.

It wasn’t that she couldn’t produce children– no no, she could make a baby if she wanted to– but she didn’t want to. She wanted to be childfree.

How did Taehyung find out about it? The couple were at Namjoon’s place for a BBQ to celebrate Namjoon’s son’s second birthday. Taehyung and his friends were talking about who would be next to have kids. Jin already has one son with his wife, Hobi and his wife were already expecting, Yoongi had a girlfriend who he’s not long been with, while Jimin and Jungkook were still single. Naturally, Taehyung confidently said he and Siri would be next.

Taehyung had no doubts since he was planning to propose to her soon and he couldn’t wait to put a baby into her. He even told the guys he wanted about five children because he loved kids and wanted a big family.

“Good luck with convincing Noona to give you that many– or any kids for that matter, Hyung,” Jungkook joked before he took a sip of his beer.

“Yeah, I don’t see that happening at all!” Jimin squeaky laughed.

Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, “What are you talking about? Of course we’d have kids. That’s what people do in relationships. They get together, get married, then have kids and be a family.”

Jungkook and Jimin side-eyed each other with a doubtful look as they weren’t sure if Taehyung was being serious. You see, they knew Siri didn’t like kids or want them at all. They saw all the signs over the past six years, so how did Taehyung miss it?

It was mainly because it wasn’t a topic that came up in conversation – even though it should’ve come up after Siri expressed her dislike for children many times – but Taehyung just thought they were too young to talk about it and thought Siri would grow out of it. He thought the conversation could wait till they were ready to settle down. He thought they would want the same things because they hardly argued and had similar opinions about things– well, most things anyway…

“Siri-noona doesn’t like kids though...” Jungkook stated.

“Yeah, she doesn’t like other people’s kids, but she’ll love ours,” Tae replied confidently.

“Tae,” Jimin said gently, “Siri has always said she doesn’t want kids...”

“Yeah, but she said that during uni when we were no way near ready for a baby, so of course she would say that. We have a place together and are financially stable now. And you both know I’ll be proposing to her soon so we’ll both be ready for a family soon, too.”

Jungkook and Jimin side-eyed each other again with wide eyes this time, then they looked around awkwardly at the others. They couldn’t believe that out of all people, Siri’s own boyfriend didn’t see the signs– or even listen to her– or thought she would change her stance on kids even though she’s been pretty obvious about not liking or wanting kids at all.

“Tae,” Jimin continued speaking gently because he didn’t want to upset Taehyung since this topic was quite serious, “I think you need to talk to Siri about it before you guys get really serious.”

“There’s nothing to talk about,” Taehyung snapped as felt a little angry burn in his chest. He was getting upset his friends doubted him. “She and I are happy together and want a family together. And a family involves kids!”

“How do you not see it, Taehyung-ah?” Yoongi spoke up. “Take a look at what Siri is up to right now...” he nodded his head where Siri was, making all the guys look in her direction. “We’re at a kids birthday party and she’s all the way over there away from the kids and is playing with Namjoon’s dog instead.”

“That’s coz she loves dogs! She’s working her way to make her own dog grooming business!”

“You know what,” Namjoon chimed in, “I didn’t even think about it until you guys brought it up, but Siri didn’t even want to hold my baby.” Namjoon has another child, a baby girl who’s six months old and a lot of the women would coo over his adorable baby– all except Siri. “She’s never wanted to hold either of my kids and she didn’t even gush over my youngest. Literally, all she said was ‘cute’ then carried on her merry way.”

“Now that you mention it, she didn’t want to hold mine when he was a baby either,” Jin added, “and mine’s a world wide cutie!”

“It’s not a bad thing to be childfree though,” Namjoon added. It was obvious to him and the guys that Taehyung was in denial, so he thought he’d back-up the childfree stance. “It’s becoming more common nowadays as people would rather focus more on themselves and have their freedom.”

“I’m gonna be childfree,” Jungkook spoke up. “I feel the same as Noona. I don’t really like kids either. They’re cute and all, but they’re not for me.”

“And that’s totally okay,” Namjoon nodded and emphasised, supporting Jungkook’s choice. He was also trying to subtly tell Taehyung that it was okay if Siri didn’t want kids and she shouldn’t be judged for it.

But it wasn’t okay. Not for Taehyung. Not when he wants a few kids.

Taehyung’s heart slowly dropped after taking in his friends’ words. And after seeing Siri keep away from the children today, and thinking back on her behaviour with children, he started to worry about his future with her.

For the first time since they got together, Taehyung wasn’t sure if they were unbreakable anymore.

A/N: As mentioned at the top (in case you missed it) this story was meant to be a one-shot but I’ve decided to make it a SHORT STORY - will be around 5 chapters).

This will be fast paced since I had originally intended for this to be a one-shot but I felt Taehyung deserved his own little book.
