Chapter 1
As I walked through the dark forest, the trees seemed to close in around me like skeletal fingers. The air was thick with the scent of decay and death, and I could feel the weight of the woods pressing down upon my shoulders. Every step I took felt like a betrayal, as if I were intruding on some ancient and forgotten place where no human should ever tread.
But I had to keep moving forward, driven by some unseen force that urged me deeper into the heart of the forest. My flashlight cast eerie shadows on the ground ahead, illuminating the twisted roots and gnarled trunks of the trees. I stumbled over rocks and fallen branches, my heart racing with every snap and crackle of the underbrush.
Suddenly, I heard a low growl behind me. I spun around, but there was nothing there. The sound came again, this time closer, and I saw two eyes glowing in the darkness. They were watching me, waiting for their moment to strike.
I tried to run, but my legs were heavy and slow. The eyes drew closer, until they were right behind me, and then everything went black.
When I woke up, I was lying on the forest floor, my head throbbing and my body covered in dirt and leaves. The eyes were still watching me, but now they were inside my mind, peering deep into my soul. I knew then that I was trapped in this place, forever cursed to roam these accursed woods, hunted by the malevolent spirits that lurked within.
