Chapter 1
The sun slowly began to set on the horizon, and the city of Briarmont grew dark and silent. Eloise, a young girl of twelve years, was getting ready for bed. She brushed her teeth, said her prayers, and then slid under the covers of her bed. As the night slowly settled around her, Eloise thought of the places she had heard stories about: the abandoned amusement park with its long-forgotten rides, the old haunted mansion, and, most of all, the pizzeria. It's rumored that strange, nightmarish creatures lurk in the shadows, waiting for unsuspecting victims to stumble upon them in the night.
Eloise wasn't sure if she believed the stories, but as the night grew darker, she could almost swear she heard a faint noise coming from close by. She tossed and turned in her bed, trying to shake off the feeling of unease that was building inside her. The noise only seemed to get louder, and soon it was clear that the noise was coming from the abandoned pizzeria.
Eloise's nerves were on edge as she crept out of her room and slowly crept closer to the pizzeria. Hesitantly, she peered in to the windows, and what she saw filled her with terror. Five robotic figures, all with sinister grins, stood motionless inside. She quickly backed away and sprinted back to her room.
When morning finally broke, Eloise was still shaken by what she had seen. As she went to school her friends asked what was wrong, and she told them everything that she had seen during the night. Her friends were skeptical at first, however it wasn't long before they heard stories from others at school who had experienced the same thing. The name for the robots quickly took on an eerie life of its own: Five Nights at Freddy's.
It was soon clear that the robots at the abandoned pizzeria were indeed real, and their presence had become a source of fear for the people of Briarmont; stories of mysterious disappearances and strange noises began to spread quicker than before. Eloise made sure to stay far away from the pizzeria, and made sure to be back in bed before nightfall. She knew she was safe, as long she stayed away from the Five Nights at Freddy's.
