The Annoyance

A rough and rowdy, protective fighter. A warrior who fought any that came close to those he loved. He knew what he wanted and he wasn't going anywhere until he got it. Even if he had to tear a face off, or two, to get it. You won't give in to his demands? Prepare for the tantrum of a lifetime.

I'm talking leg climbing, hissing, wall climbing, cat tree jumping, and sardine chomping...

"Bandit!"

Ruby Morningstar shooed her pet raccoon, Bandit, off of her desk. He had made a mess of her drawings in an attempt to find some treats or perhaps just entertain himself. He hurriedly scurried off to his cat tree fortress.

His mother, Ruby, was so high-strung lately. One minute it was, 'Good baby boy, Bandit.' and the next it was, 'Don't chew up my pants!' It was honestly getting on his last nerve.

He knew the reasoning, what started her stress. Still, it wasn't his fault those four behemoth men came bumbling into their lives and upset his owner. Who was he to take the brunt of her frustrations? Why not knock against those men and beat them up a little? Wouldn't that make them go away and solve all their problems?

Did she still give him sardines and cuddles? Yes, but not all night and day like before. Now she was inviting those demonic hooligans over, taking up his space and time. He had half a mind to scat all over their shoes the next time they came around.

"Rysten?"

Speak of the blonde-headed devil. Sitting atop his cat tree Bandit watched the man walk into Ruby's office, their conversation strained in some ways. The tough little raccoon wondered how much trouble he would get into if he just happened to slip off his perch and fall onto the man. With his claws out.

As they talked, his Ruby started to calm down a little, sitting in her desk chair as the blonde annoyance sat down across from her. The shop was closed for the day and the lights were already shut off. He had just been waiting for his mother dearest to get her things so they could leave.

Instead, he was now stuck hiding away, waiting for the inconvenience of the man's presence to dissipate. Maybe a gnawing or two to his ankles might hurry him along. Of course, Bandit didn't have that kind of energy. He would rather wait out the intrusion.

As long as Ruby wasn't getting hurt and didn't look stressed anymore, he would allow the man to stay. If they didn't rap this up soon though, he would be very grumpy. There better be treats when they get home for such a time-wasting side plot.

"Bandit, let's go home."

Ruby walked up to the cat tree, her jacket and hat already on. It would be cold outside, the chill fast approaching. He jumped down to her shoulders, curling around her neck to keep himself and her warm. No good would come from one of them freezing.

The man, Rysten, followed behind. If Bandit had the energy he would've shooed the pest away, but as it was he simply rested into Ruby. They would be home soon, where snacks and warm safety beckoned him.
