Chapter 1

Funny things happen when your under pressure. I happened to learn that rather quickly. My life has been full of fun surprises. (I'm being sarcastic.) The fun surprises first started when I was about 3. My parents were Christian. Like a shove it down your throat Christian, anyway, I was an only child and therefore the one who got to take on everything from my parents.

On my 3rd birthday my parents decided to keep me "safe from the world" by locking me in the basement of our house. For years. They chained me to a wall and put a potty pad underneath me and kept me there for years. Yup. For years I was sitting in a pile of my own piss and shit.

Everyday they came downstairs to read me the bible to try and exercise the gay out of me with the towns priest, who ended up SA'ing me until I turned 16. Pretty tragic story huh. It felt hopeless for quite a while.

My luck came into view when one of my dads friends (Donnavan) opened the door to the basement while he was looking for the bathroom. He heard breathing and went down to investigate. He saw me, called the police, i was taken away for questioning and they asked Donnavan if he wanted to adopt me to which he said yes since I didn't have any other family members that wanted me.

I moved into Donnavans house. Well more like a mansion. His house was massive. He had maids, butlers, cooks literally everything. Since I didn't have many things we ended up going shopping for clothes and essentials.

"So. Whats your name kid?" Donnavan asked me with a hint of softness in his voice. I was a little hostile, not gonna lie.

"Neal. My name is Neal." Donnavan smiled slightly. "What about you?"

"Just call me Don." I nodded. We looked aeound the clothes for a bit before I found a sweater and and some jeans.

We looked around for some more clothes before going back to the house. "Go take a shower kid, I've got places to be." I nodded and went to the bathroom to shower.

As I entered the bathroom it was hard to not notice how nice everything was. I took off the clothes they gave me at the police station and looked at myself in the mirror. Christ on a stick, I looked like shit.

After I couldn't look at myself any longer I slipped into the shower. The warm water cascaded over my body like a warm hug. This was nice. It has been so long since I've had a warm shower. I looked down at the water collecting at my feet.

The water was dark and dirty. Gross. I washed my hair that needed cut. I scrubbed my body and face. The grim and crust and everything else that had collected on my skin was finally washed off.

After my hour long shower I put on my new clothes when a voice from outside echoed down the hall. "Kid you almost done?" Don.

"Yeah just getting dressed." I heard footsteps walking toward the bathroom and quickly pulled my shirt down. Don opened the door.

"You look nice. I'll show you to your room. C'mon." I sighed and followed him to my room.

We stalked up the steps and he opened the door to my room. "Decorate it however you want." And with that he shut me in the room. I quickly opened the door, surprised that it wasn't locked. My eyes met don's. I laughed nervously. "You okay kid?" He raised an eyebrow and I nodded.

I slowly shut the door and turned around to look at my room. The room walls were a pale yellow and the window was big. The bed looked big enough and the sheets were clean. The closet was nice and it had a couple blankets in the top shelf with a few extra pillows.

This room was definitely livable

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel
