PROLOGUE
and then there was light..
The night you and i kissed, nervous
fireworks exploded out from our eyelids
and coalesced into kites and clouds
and orange skins and
I listened to your heartbeat like a
satellite dish listens down to the earth
lonely from up in space and i heard
voices and
Wished with the brute force of each
and every candle flame and wick
in the universe that they were singing
to me and
I don't believe you were built out of
rib bones and boys- i am sure you
were a detached eyelash off god that
floated down to earth and
Landed in a lake, and spun itself into
fingernails and honey and waist bones
that shake like ground peppercorn or
buttercups in the wind and
Touching you was fvcking electric and
the skin between your stomach and
collarbone was either a meadow or
sand dune and
I suppose it doesn't matter anymore
because either way i'm stuck there
and
I want you to know, that you're
punctuation on the poem i
wrote about how i'm going to
take the world by storm.
