Chapter 1

I picked up a tart and shoved it into my mouth. " Oh my god. That is sooo good, Mischa." I moaned.

The house cook smiled. " Im glad you like it. So, what are the new book interests?" She questioned.

I smiled at her. " I'm in the middle of Ana Huang's Twisted love. Its so good. I was just scrolling on insta then i came across the book recommendation. "

Mischa grinned. " Where'd you get the money for the book?"

I picked up another tart and took a bite. " You know, I sell jewelry in school. Made forty this week."

She laughed. " Sometimes I really wish I were you."

I waved her off. " No, you don't. You don't want to live your life being called fat then criticized by your own family."

We were silent for the rest of that day, quietly eating the fruit tarts that she made.

*~*

Around seven, my sister walked into my room dressed all fancy.

" What are you all up to?" I crinkled my nose at her.

Sylvia scowled at me. She threw me a dress. " We have an important guest over for dinner. Go wear that dress. After that wash those ew germs off. " she left without waiting for me to answer and i studied the dress.

It was a tight fitting dress. This was not going to work out for my body at all.

I put the dress on and stared at myself in the mirror. My stomach was round and I looked ridiculous.

I quickly put on a corset top and pulled it to the tightest before doing my hair up in a braid.

When I went downstairs, I found everyone there and I blushed, embarrassed.

I quickly took my seat and father hissed angrily at me. " What took you so long, idiot?"

I mumbled an apology. I didn't want him to get angry.

" Whats your name?" The guys sitting beside Sylvia asked.

I glanced at father and he nodded.

I stuck out a hand. " Rosalie. It's a pleasure to meet you."

He shook my hand and father pinched me.

I bit on my lip to silence the yelp and forced a smile at the stranger, only to be pinched again.

" This is Kane Woods. One of you shall be marrying him soon." Father announced, smiling at Sylvia.

My stomach lurched. " Please choose me and get me out of here." I pleaded to the sky silently.

Kane stared at sylvia for a long time before he turned to his parents. There was some sort of communication passing between them before he turned back.

" I'll marry Rosalie."

There was a gasp and I saw Sylvia glaring at me.

Well, shite.

Kane nodded at me. " You will come with us after dinner."

I nodded but father grabbed my hand tightly.

" I need to have a family chat. Please excuse us."

Mother and Sylvia followed and father pulled me to the basement.

" How dare you steal my his husband?!" Sylvia screamed. She slapped me and I sat there helplessly, letting her slap me. If i moved father would murder me.

Mother stood at one corner and glared harshly at me. Father looked pissed off.

" We have to go back up there. The woods are waiting. We can't do anything."

They dragged me back up and I plastered a smile on my face when I caught Kane looking at me.

" We agree to your terms." Father announced.

" Lovely." Kane's mother smiled. " As for the wedding, we'll inform you once we have everything prepared."

The two shooked hands and father turned to me.

" Please go pack your stuff. "

I nodded and raced tp my room to change into much more comfortable clothes.

Then I packed whatever I had. It was mostly books, considering the fact that I loved to read. Then i realised that i didnt have much clothes to bring.

Father always said that buying clothes for me cost a fortune.

When I went back to the kitchen, i found the Woods family waiting for me.

" Im sorry i took so long." I mumbled.

Mrs Woods smiled. " No problem. You'll be riding with Kane. See you soon!"

She left with her hisband and Kane looked at me.

" Let's go."

I followed him to a limo outside, not knowing that my life was going to tame a huge turn.

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
