The Rink
We pull up to the rink and Delilah’s face lights up. Sebastian smiles at her joy. Something about seeing her happy brings him so much happiness too. We all go inside and get our ice skates. As we are putting them on, she asks Sebastian to tie hers. He did this happily. When he knelt down, her face turned red and she grinned. It was so obvious. She liked him back. Anyone paying attention would be able to realize it. But he wasn’t convinced. We eventually got on the ice. He is a very good ice skater because of his years playing street hockey. She is like hella struggling though, and starts grabbing the wall. But then she tries to go to the middle and falls. He races to her. She blushes in embarrassment. He reaches out for her arm and she looks up at him in such an admirable manner. Her eyes have sparkles in them and he gets butterflies as she grabs his hand. He help her up and then she holds onto his arm tight. This was comforting to both people and they began to go around the rink together arm in arm. They were talking and laughing the whole time and every time she would begin to struggle, he grabbed her tighter and helped her out. After a few hours, it was time to leave. He helped her off the ice. He has to ask her. There is no better time. She will say yes. Why can’t he see it. Then I get a great idea. “Hey, when we get back home, do you guys wanna go downtown to eat? I’m super hungry” I ask. Everyone is in agreement and Sebastian knows exactly what I’m doing. Tonight is the night. He can’t get out of it now.
