Happy News Years
“Hey, you know how there’s a New Year’s part?” Sebastian asked. “Yeah?” Delilah responded. “I was wondering if you wanted to go with me.” Delilah was ecstatic at this suggestion and instantly said yes. Then they continued on their walk with their arms around each other. For the next few days, that’s all either of them could think about. What would they wear? What would they say? What would they do at midnight? All these thoughts were racing in their minds but they both had one goal for the night; getting a midnight kiss. Sebastian would not stop asking me about it “do you think she will want to? How do I initiate it? Do you think she will feel comfortable kissing in front of other people?” He was manic, but I eventually calmed him down. He was overthinking it too much. She obviously liked him, and it’s not like they haven’t kissed before. I told him that it’s super chill and he has nothing to worry about. Soon comes New Year’s Eve. Sebastian and I drove together because we are neighbours. We were a bit early so there were only two other people there. Soon after we arrived, Delilah got there. I opened the door for her and when Sebastian saw her, he froze. He looked up at Delilah’s sparkly pink dress and stunning diamond earrings. It was a feeling he had never experienced before. It felt like a scene straight out of a romance film. He walked up to her, helped her down the steps, and gives her a big hug. I heard him whisper into her ear, “you are the definition of beautiful.” He’s really annoying, but sometimes I’m reminded that he’s a very genuine guy. Well at least when he’s this into someone. Eventually, everyone got there. We were eating amazing food, playing games, and just partying. It slowly got closer to midnight and pretty soon, there was 15 minutes left. We all gathered around the tv with snacks and confetti poppers. Delilah and Sebastian stood right next to each other. They were holding hands and talking. “ I can’t believe I’m going into the new year holding hands with such and amazing person” Sebastian said to her. She responded with “is that all you wanna do going into the new years? Maybe we should make it a little bit more interesting.” This made him super happy. It’s exactly what he wanted to hear. He agreed and they both smiled. We got down to the countdown. It’s like every second we counted, they got closer together. We were all there waiting to see them share this beautiful moment. 3 they were looking right into each other’s eyes. 2 their foreheads were touching. 1 there lips were right next to each other. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! We look over as their lips meet. You could tell they loved each other. It was clear. His heart filled with pure unimaginable happiness and hers did too. They knew everyone was watching, but they didn’t care. They were the only two people left on this planet. Him and her. Sebastian and Delilah. Until now I never truly understood if he loved her. I didn’t know if he just wanted a girlfriend or simply just found her attractive. But now as I witness this, I can tell he really does love her. I’ve never seen him happier. And I love it. I never want to see him any other way. It’s all because of Delilah. She brings out the absolute best in him. She makes him a better person. I see it all the time. I’m so happy they have each other now.
