Prologue
It was a sweltering, hot night. In the darkness, the only thing that shone was the worn-out yellowish light that came from an oddly crescent-shaped moon. It reflected off of the dingy white graveled parking lot that was located on a hill in the middle of nowhere. But that isn’t what caught Vincent’s attention as he so desperately tried to wake up. It was the unstable breathing that was carried by the misty wind, along with the awful smell of rotting flesh filling his lungs. This is what turned his focus towards a shadow in the distance.
Out of the night came one of the most terrifying creatures, he has ever seen. Their eyes immediately locked. She slithered towards him through the gravel floor. He could see the crazed look on her face, but he couldn’t do anything, for he was frozen in place. Vincent rubbed his eyes with the back of his fists, trying to wake up; this isn’t a dream, his mind screeched. With every gliding step Alora took, her wild ash blonde hair gently touched the crevices of her upper lip, which exposed the overlapped fangs that dripped with a bright red liquid.
When Vincent’s eyes finally adjusted to the gloomy night, he was able to make out the lifeless cadavers lying in a pool of dark red blood behind her. The blood-soaked through the tiny pebbles, tinting them into a brownish color that streamed down the hill like a river. The positions of the bodies were awkward, with arms and legs all twisted up, like the sadistic smile on her face. This was child’s play for her, and that is just what those bodies looked like: ragdolls that had been tossed around. Alora is so vicious and cruel, was all he could recall from his past life.
Alora continued to creep closer to him, meanwhile nastily shrieking out the name, “Michael.”
His hard-stoned body froze once again in fear as he stared into those mesmerizing pale green eyes. If she ever finds me, what will I do? His delusional mind tried to ponder. Alora’s eerie voice screamed at Vincent, bringing him out of his deep thoughts. “Oh, I will find you, and I will destroy you for what you have done,” She hissed at him. Such a sinister tone, so inhumane that the hairs on the back of his neck rose, his body began to quiver, and then everything went dark.
