Introduction
Welcome to the Scribble Nook Scribble Book! Scribble Nook is a Facebook Group by the Brainstorming Author Collective. We offer writing tips, games, reading recommendations and writing events. In this book you will find a collection of all our writing events.
Each year we run five events:
- Spooktacular - starts in September, covers Halloween,
- Love and War - starts in November, covers Christmas and New Year
- Be My Valentine - starts in January, covers Valentines
- Magic, Myth and Mysteries - starts March, covers Easter
- Endless Adventure - starts May
Whether you’re an author or just looking to have a little fun you can find the rules for all of the past events here and give them a go! Challenge yourself, get out of your comfort zone by trying something new - either for your own personal satisfaction or to display in the Scribble Nook collection. For open events your work can be presented in the relevant book but for stories submitted for any closed events they will be displayed in the Freestyle Scribble Nook book.
Participating in open events is a brilliant opportunity to challenge yourself to hit a deadline and it also comes with a small amount of advertising across Facebook book groups.
Freestyle doesn’t have the time challenge factor and the advertising is less.
An important thing to note about Scribble Nook is that you retain all rights to your work. For open events you are only obligated to have your work displayed for the indicated time period but after that you can request its removal at any point, for closed events your work will be displayed from the begining of the following month until you request it's removal. Work will be displayed on Dreame and Inkitt along with any information you would like to include about yourself as an author and your work - even if you ask for your story to be removed your author information can still remain to direct readers towards your platforms etc.
