What is your opinion?

THROUGH A LENS

"This is an impressive short novella. The suspense builds up: and I was not really sure if Liam really was being followed by malevolent forces, or was somebody, or something unpleasant following him. The tension builds up to a high, is released, and then builds up again, for more releases, before the denouement. William Eldritch has managed to convey a good story. Liam is the only active character, and everything that happens is shown from Liam's perspective and point of view. It builds up to a shattering climax, maybe I wondered what happened to Liam next, but a good raconteur, like William Eldritch, knows when and where to finish a story."

Fantastic short story.

"Beautifully written, with vivid description and sometimes poetic in nature, a quality rarely seen by most horror writers. The story builds in tension, which puts you on the edge of your seat all the way to the shock conclusion. In my eyes, this is a must read short story, one of the best I've ever read, Just can't wait to read more by this author. Fantastic."

My favourite short horror story!

"I have been reading short horror stories all my life, but Through a Lens is now my favourite. What a brilliant plot, and such an amazing end! Brilliantly written, the great description makes you feel like you are actually there. Being an amateur photographer, I was intrigued by the title, and was initially disappointed that there is not much to do with photography in this story, but after reading the first couple of pages, I was hooked. I also felt the protagonist’s ever-growing dread and it gave me a twisting feeling in my tummy. Wow! "

Uneasy but brilliantly written.

"Some brilliant scene setting and love the imagery of walking along the footpath. As someone who has frequented Cornwall regularly, if from the UK, I wouldn't be surprised if this is where the inspiration arose. Other than that another brilliant story with another gut wrenching twist. There is forever an uneasy feeling in your stomach and its all fabulously wrapped up together come the end. Please keep writing as I very much look forward to reading the next one."

Through a lens

"That soooo did not turn out like I thought it would. I had a hard time reading the first few chapters, but that was because I wanted to know what happened with that gull and it was bugging the crap out of me, lol. But the twist at the end, I did not see that coming. So worth the read."
