"I love mini Ray. His internal perspective as a teen was hilarious and endearing at the same time. Finding his footing through the confusion of hormones and immaturity just adds to his overall narrative. But seriously - that girl - 😬 depth of a kiddie pool. I’d almost feel sorry for him if it wasn’t funny reading a confused teenage mind. Well done, Spicy. 👌🏾"

A cute throwback to the 80s
"It’s a little throwback to our weird life while growing up. The fear of getting a girlfriend without creeping her out of the weird personality/vulnerabilities that are frequent in that age was spot on. Though I found the guy’s personality a little cheeky in the beginning, I started hating him in the end. I felt he couldn’t understand Julianne’s innocence. He judged her for being nervous though he himself wasn’t confident despite narrating the script in his mind. But I calmed down when he kissed her instead of leaving her stranded. I would have liked had you described the culture of the 80s in the party scenes, rock concerts and general surroundings. The descriptive writing was missing. Great work otherwise. Really enjoyed reading this book. "
