rosegold

i think my soul is a cotton candy pink

even though my eyes are a caramel brown

even though my hair is nearly dark as the night and subtle hazelnut in the sun.

the color pink just speaks to me

the unabashed and uninterrupted femininity

forever judged and disdained by others despite its purity and kindness

the color scheme of cupid whose arrows spread only love

in a world that tries so hard to be full of hate.

i think we are all born as kind and pure as the color pink is

in its many hues of flamingo wings and gum bubbles

in its many shades of lipgloss sparkles and romantic roses

i think we all have it in us to be as kind and pure as that birth of saturation

for pink is the color of our tongues

the color of our lips

the color of our brains

and so we should spread only pure and kind words

and pure and kind kisses

and pure and kind thoughts.

i think my soul is the color pink

because all i crave in this world is

kindness and purity.
