Prologue
" Melissa, affectionately known as Mely, possessed a magnetic personality that could sway even the most resistant souls. While her demeanor could sometimes border on insufferable, her fierce loyalty was reserved for those she held dear.
Summoned by her mother to spend the upcoming three-month summer vacation at their ancestral pack, Mely resolved that this year would mark a departure from the norm.
No longer would she tolerate the incessant taunts of her cousins, nor would she silently endure the whispers that painted her family as a paragon of dysfunctionality. Yes, her parents were true mates once, bound by an unbreakable bond that even divorce couldn’t sever. But Mely refused to let their past define her present.
Yet, despite her indomitable will, Mely couldn’t foresee the challenges awaiting her in the approaching summer. Would she choose to flee from adversity, or would she confront each twist and turn head-on? ”
