Prologue
In the hushed corridors of the Livadia palace during the chilly days of February 1945, the Yalta conference was underway. The leaders of the Soviet Union, the United States and the United Kingdom had each shown up with many diplomats and translators each to the monumental palace in Crimea.
The air was thick with tension and mistrust as the many cabs transporting Roosevelt, Churchill and the diplomats advanced towards the immense entrance of the palace. The bitter winds howled through the Crimean peninsula as the three most powerful men in the world gathered in the same palace to discuss the aftermath of the ongoing war. The drastic differences between the two parties thickened the air with tension that could be felt in every hallway and room of the palace.
Each man present for the conference firmly stood by their political views, not knowing that some of them would be torn between love and duty all throughout the conference.
The fourth of February 1945 is a day that will be forever engraved in the minds and the hearts of the two men whose hearts led them to their political rival.
(When there are two dashes before and after a group of paragraphs in italic, it is a dream sequence.)
