Chapter 1: James
“Congratulations! Its a boy!”
That was the best day of my life. My wife Amira struggled to make a sound that wasn't completely sobbing, she thought he was dead. Our son was announced dead only a few minutes ago before gaining breath with tubes and other medical devices.
We knew having a child was risky enough but would do anything for a kid, that's all she ever talked about while we were dating, how she wanted a son to cuddle and play and to teach football or baseball. When we got married it was said that because of genes a baby wouldn't be possible and to risky to my wife, she didn't care. Anything.
Linkin Ronald Oconnell. My son. The first time I held him was 4 weeks after he his birth, because of his unexpectedly of living. They didn't even know if he was to make it to one. Me and my wife held as much hope in our hearts that our child would live, and we would give him everything he deserved in life.
Today marks his 2nd birthday, my son had lived.
