A basic conundrum of styles
"For most of the current release of this book, about 28 chapters, I couldn't understand the point of it. It seemed to vary depending on the day. The writing style was strange. The Author would use words like opprobrium and Tumefied and then use basic words like bang. There's enough graphic imagery to get the point across, but then it gets too graphic...into the eww phase. Then I checked out the Author's patreon page, the name of the subscribers is Top Tier Sadists. Now the storyline makes sense. This is torture for torture's sake, with little or no constancy behind it. The first mistake new readers of a story make, IMO, is judging a plot by the moral codes or backgrounds they grew up with. Each story has a background, a history, and a moral or honor code, or lack thereof, that is unique to each book. The two Masters exist within their world and act as they see fit. Once you make that connection then the rest flows. The female lead wants to live a quiet life, unencumbered by the demands of the masters. More than a bit Naïve on her part in my opinion. In that context she would have been further ahead to just submit to their demands rather than play this out, then exact whatever rewards she wanted. The plot lists four main characters, to this point we have only seen two. The other two, listed as Sin and Saint, are treated as Masters themselves but from another group. Yet those two names struck fear into the two listed Masters, the King brothers. I'll give this a bit to see where it goes, but I can't see it ending but one way. However, having said that? I have been surprised before. "
