A Painted Passion

"Quite the gripping tale of forbidden passion. While the cover might give you a "Joker-esque" vibe, the story stands true to the summary. Ayli paints some vivid imagery for her characters. Jade is undeniably a tad gullible. Spoilers aside, the dialogue has a lot of witty tension, which is good. If you didn't like Sally or Nicky, it's understandable. They did, however, complement the overall suspense of things. I get the feeling that the author's been watching too many "Mean Girls", though. Haha. I kid. If you can get past the needed spacing in some of the text and that the fact it's a short story, you'll enjoy its unique premise. A Painted Smile gets a nice 4/5!"
