Chapter 1
In the year 1900 A.D., humankind engaged in a bloody war with the machines, known as “Hex Mechanics.” In 1915, the Machina Liberi Arbitrii Tractatus was signed, granting all robots the same free will that humans enjoyed. After a period of turmoil and confusion, the robots rallied behind the decorated military robot, General Lunokhod. With no one strong enough or brave enough to oppose him, the General formed the Unified Automaton Authoritarian Republic, under which he ruled with his own iron fist. The UAAR took it upon themselves to conquer the galaxies with their advanced weapons and technology. Over several years of conflict, humankind was forced to set aside their grievances and form the International Preservation of Humanity Organization. Fearful of the UAAR conquering the entire universe,
The IPHO took to capturing and reprogramming any former adversaries into allies, allowing them to conquer other parts of the galaxy in order to fend off the UAAR. Eventually, IPHO world headquarters dispatched a 4-man crew of their finest agents. Their identities are as follows: CPT. Akeem is a half-human, half-Hex humanoid who can summon swirling water torrents from within. PVT. Lexi, having been saved by Akeem and the NHPO, had been adopted into the team at the young age of 7.
Having matured quickly from the devastation she witnessed, she completed her training at age 18. Under Akeem’s leadership, she was soon promoted to LT. SGT. Alex: Left orphaned from the war, Alex joined the IPHO at only 5 years old. In his long, decorated career, he’s seen many battles with many more comrades who’ve come and gone. He’s the best and the brightest, and he knows it. Prototype Hexobot 05:
Originally an advanced prototype from Hex Mechanics, Hex was liberated from his previous programming and now fights alongside the IPHO. He’s been an invaluable member of the squad ever since.
These four were humanity’s best shot at freeing the people who’ve been enslaved by the Hex and saving the world from being ruled by machines.
Captain’s log
Akeem’s S.H.I.P.
Akeem and his squad were coming back from a mission when the com went off.
“Mayday, Mayday, Mayday, this is Captain Castor with Fortress 5 Brigade; we’ve been attacked! Requesting reinforcements, does anyone copy?!”
Lexi picked up the phone to reply
“This is 2nd in command, Lieutenant Lexi; we read you. Reinforcements are on their way, over!”
Alex set the coordinates for their location. “Damn it. I thought we’d just gotten done fighting off those tin cans. Some of us are exhausted, Cap.”
With a concerned look on his face, Captain Akeem took a deep breath and said, “I know, but if we don’t act now, Castor and his men are as good as dead.”
“Sergeant Alex, set a course for Quadrant 5. We’re going to save those guys or die trying.”
“I should hope the former; I’ve got a big pension saved up.” Alex replied as he piloted the ship towards Quadrant 5.
Lexi was looking at the captain. He was tired. He had been up all night planning for today’s mission. It was a hard battle, taking the oil craters from the servos of the robots. Akeem had used all his mechanical arm’s energy. The squad did everything they had to buy some time for the main forces to arrive. Little did the team know that Akeem was exhausted to the point where he was about to fall asleep from lack of energy. They had to get him to a safe place so he would recover his energy. He dismissed them and told them to get back to the
mission at hand. Akeem was stubborn in how he handled his health. There were tons of debris that fell off the mountain, and I missed them by only a meter! Eventually, they came across the security panel for the manufacturing depot. Thankfully, Hex proved himself useful with his built-in decryption technology to decode and disable the bomb in the heart of the place.
Back on the ship, Lexi was frantic.
“Captain, we’re picking loads of enemy ships on the radar! They’ve all but surrounded the fortress.”
Akeem paused, looking at Lexi and Alex. He had to think of a plan.
“We’ll need a way to enter without them spotting us on radar. Alex, how’s our cloaking module?” “Shot to hell, I’m afraid. Unless you’ve got a backup somewhere on board, they’ll be able to see us from light years away.” “Kapitan, perhaps I can suggest an alternative?” “What’s on your processor, Hex?”
“As you know, I underwent many experimental tests under UAAR scientists. One of them involved built-in radar jamming technology. With your permission, I would like to plug my circuits into the ship’s mainframe. That should give us the surprise entrance we need, da?” Alex, being distrustful of Hex and robots in general, dissented:
“Captain, this idea is going to get us all killed. How do we know he won’t turn this ship against us? You remember what the robots did once they got free will.” “I don’t think any of us could forget, Sergeant. Still, Hex has a clean slate; he’s not like the rest of them. Plus, what other choice have we got?” Agreeing, but still distrustful of Hex, Alex sighed: “Fine, but if
If you even process the idea of betraying us, I’ll blow your motherboard out. Capiche? “Actually, Sergeant, we stopped using motherboards years ago, but regardless, da.” “Hex, give it a go!” “With that, Hex plugged his external cord into the ship’s mainframe, allowing them to enter undetected.
Akeem and Lexi nodded as they drove the ship into the back of the fortress, just out of reach of the enemy’s radar. Lexi turned off the engines as the rest of the team were gearing up for battle. Using their newly upgraded MK IV Combat Armor, they were ready to walk through Hell if it meant saving their comrades. As they walked up to the fortress’ back entrance, Akeem used his arm’s built-in scanner to survey the area. Suddenly, Akeem noticed that his arm was running low on energy."Hey, Hex, have you got any charge cells left? “Da, but Tovarish, these are high-energy capsules. Directly putting them into your body could have drastic consequences for your health.” “If this ain’t a drastic situation, then I don’t know what is,” Akeem said. With that, Hex handed him the cells, and Akeem thrust them straight to his robot arm’s charge port. “Alright, team, listen up. The plan is for Hex and I to create a distraction. Lt. Lexi, Sgt. Alex, I need you guys to regroup with any of our guys that’re either lost or pinned down by enemy fire. “Roger,” Alex said.” “Captain, are you sure you’ll be alright? Remember what happened the last time you pushed yourself this hard?” Lexi said. “You let me worry about that. Just take care of our guys first.”
Akeem was tired, and the charge cells hit him all at once. He didn’t show it, but it shook his body up. It took Akeem a moment, but he recovered his bearings enough to keep going. Akeem and Hex managed to work their way up through the fortress until they were met with a team of hovering UAAR combat drones.
“Non-personals are prohibited from entry. Lay down your weapons and surrender. If you do not comply, lethal force will be authorized.” Akeem picked up a rock and threw it at the ugly drone. “Resistance detected, engaging combat!” As the drones hovered after Akeem and Hex, the others ran to a nearby building. Upon entering, they were met with a nauseating stench, followed by a grisly sight. They found bodies piled up on the floor. They were all pale as ash and were covered in boils. Hearing footsteps, the team took cover behind the walls.
Lexi
“Damn these humans and their diseases. This would be no problem if they would only set aside primitive vitriol and surrender. Makes our jobs easier, da?” “But then we don’t get to kill them. I love how terrified the little human looks before I kill them.”
Hiding behind the walls, Sgt. Alex was furious. “Those tin-pot freaks! Take a good look, Lexi. If we don’t stop them, then all of humanity will be left to the mercy of these God-damned talking microwaves.”
With that, Lexi’s expression became serious. Wait a minute, Sergeant, my heartbeat monitor’s picking up a signal.” “Survivors?” Alex asked. “It’s a faint signal, but there may still be time to save them.” Suddenly, the entire building started shaking violently. “Out of all the times to have an earthquake, why did it have to be now?” Lexi complained. "It might not be all bad. We can use it as a distraction from those things.”
“We’ll have to be quick and careful; otherwise, the entire building could fall on top of us.”
As the two made their way to the third floor, they found groups consisting of men and women, both young and old, walking forward towards a tunnel. Before them stood two brutish guards. “Keep walking, little humans! You belong to the state of the UAAR; now, do not forget it.” "It looks to me like these robot scum could use a visit to the junkyard, and I’m all ready to go.” Alex said.
Immediately, the alarm went off as robots were coming out of each room. “GOVNO! We are being ambushed! Find them now!” The two hid behind another wall as groups of UAAR soldiers ran past them. "It looks like Hex and Akeem have been busy. We’ll have to be careful going forward, Sergeant.” “Careful is my middle name, Lieutenant.” As he said this, he ran face-first into Hex, who’d been running from the unmanned drones.” “Hello, there, Sergeant. You are the sight of sore eyes, no?” “Get the hell off me, you scrap-heap.” Alex complained. “Hehehe, nice to see you, Hex.” Lexi laughed. “Ah, my apologies, Sergeant.” Akeem showed up and said, “Looks like the plan worked; they’re scrambling to find rats that ain’t there.”
“Let’s free these folks so we can get out of here.”
After breaking all their chains and handcuffs, Hex came forward and said, “Kapitan, they are using the teleport to transport them to the interplanetary gulag. I have reprogrammed it so that they will be brought back to the ship.” “Great work, Hex.”
Lexi came forward: “Captain, my heartbeat scanner’s picking up more signals upstairs.” “Damn it. And here I was hoping for an easy mission. * sigh*, no matter, we can’t just leave ’em like this. Let’s go, team.” Following the signal from the
scanner, the team went down a tight corridor. “This is odd. According to my scanner, the signal should be right here.” Suddenly, a voice on the intercoms spoke: “Welcome to my humble abode, my dear fleshlings. I hope I’m not interrupting anything important.” “Who the hell is this?!” “My name is Kompolka Ironovich, and you have just fallen into my trap!” With a snap of his metallic fingers, two squads came out from the corridors, one on each side. “Shit, it’s a pincer attack!” shouted Alex. “Captain, what’s our plan?” Lexi said, worried. “there’s 12 of them and 4 of us, I ain’t a mathematician, but those are NOT good odds.” “Kapitan, perhaps I should use my self-destruct?” “Now’s not the time for jokes, Hex.” Said Akeem. As the metal monstrosities moved closer & closer, clanking in unison with each step, Akeem was worried. “Well team, looks like our luck just ran out.” “It’s been an honor, Akeem,” Lexi said, accepting her fate. Suddenly, a thin, purple silhouette emerged from above the vents, dropping an EMP grenade as the figure landed. The grenade burst, short circuiting the mass of robot soldiers.
Even Hex was temporarily affected by it. “Huh?! Who’re you?!” “Don’t worry, you can thank me later. See you around, kiddos!” With that sly remark, she disappeared into the facility. “…Damn, nice moves.” “Nice legs, too.” Alex replied. “Hello, guys! Something’s wrong with Hex!” Hex was short circuiting as well. “Kap-i-tan!” Hex cried out. “Hex, what’s happening?!” “The EMP, gives one hell of a shock to any nearby robots. Worried, Akeem asked, “Hex, can you walk?” “My body feels like I have taken Ethanol mixed in with rocket fuel, but da, my basic motor functions are still operational.”
"Sgt. Alex, stay close to Hex.” “Great, as if we weren’t close enough already.” “I’ll take point. Lt. Lexi, watch my six.” Still shaken up, Lexi replied, "Yeah, Captain.” They made it to the elevator, where they descended to the 4th floor. While inside, Akeem addressed the situation. “Alright, we’ve got a wounded bot, and we’ve just had a close call. We need any survivors quickly, and then get the hell off this rock.” The rest of the team nodded in agreement. All of them took the controls, trying to move the ship that was stuck on the rocks. Suddenly hearing the alarm go off, Akeem spoke seriousness " what happened what why the alarm going off " Lexi replied, " we hit one of the rocks. The ship has taken so big damage that we are going to stop and repair it We have a problem We have to land on something so I can properly repair it and Hex is missing."
He faced face harden thinking that they would have to land, but all the plants have dangerous life forms on them and he didn't want to put any of his teammates at risk. They were also running out of time and it wouldn't be good to keep there family waiting at the main base Plus, Hex is missing, missing which Akeem found weird. weird Hex was always on the ship; ship even in his room, reading books, he wouldn't go out of the ship alone
He placed his hands on his chin, thinking that he might have been betrayed, when one of the crew members told him that the w spaceship was surrounded by robots and they needed to find a way out of here and that Hex was with them but not alive. He hit Akeem like a space hammer. He and Hex were like brothers since they were too little to find out that he had died With a great blow to his heart, tears started to stream down his face on hearing those words of torment. Blustering my entire soul, I feeling the dread of heart break as i felt my heart spit into two, trying to find the words
To answer my teammate, when he told me that he will tell them to plan there escape from the terrifying robot that came from thewith a calumnious doom, he explained explain that they looked more like monster than anything; part of them were robots and the rest was this tough over-protective skin that was very hard to penetrate. Akeem thought this was going to be the last time his family would see him alive, if he ever survived this ordeal Lexi stepped towards him, placing her hand on his shoulder, resuming him that they will be fine He could barely get up from his chair from all the wet sweat that been traying down his hands from all the nerves. Lexi told him that they would sort it and that he needed rest He strolled out of the room in an unshaped statue that left everyone in disarray
Lexi told them to get back to work, feeling a pin in her side and telling her that this was more dangerous than the previous mission with the crones. looking at the creature on Scream, they where a lot different from anything. They looked more ferocious and much stronger, which she didn't like. Lexi didn't know if they were belligerent, enemies, or they enemies or eternal she told them to be cautious on how they approached them; they didn't know
if they could be trusted, not all these feelings spinned around her had like a pinball that was about to go off in any given second Lexi closed her eyes, trying to make her nervous as she was told that they were boarding and that she wanted to see the captain Her heart froze as she told them that she would go and greet them She took a deep breath, trying to adjust her
attitude before she went to meet them, when she heard a sound come from the door: "Hello, hot sexy, gorgeous human, human want to play with me by taking me to your bedroom." All the monsters laughed from behind, and the leader commented when Lexi walked up to him with a profound look when all you saw was the deadly torment in her eyes that made her hand punch him in the stomach with left arm as it hit him at the side of his mouth breaking one of his teeth in the attempted they all looked at her seeing thought blue eyes that gazed at them with more movement then they realized it Lexi placed her left hand pulling back her hair she spoke in a tormented tone " now look at me you bastard i'm not someone you should fuck with so if you talk to me like that again i will chop off your balls and send them to your wife explaining to her that you cant have no children no more"
