Chapter 1 - A letter
A Letter
A letter arrives in the mail.
“Meiko, you got a letter, doesn’t say from where or who though.”
Meiko perks his head up from the couch.
“Huh? Really?”
He gets up
Meiko takes the letter
“What does it say?”
Azriel peeks over
…
“We would like to invite you to 1234 street, house 000 in Columbia…”
“What the fuck?”
Azriel says
“It doesn’t even say who it’s from.”
Azriel snatches the letter.
“You’re not going, and I know you want to.”
“But-“
Meiko try’s to speak
“No buts! You’re not going all the way to Columbia by yourself to some random location from who knows!”
“But…it says to bring a plus one, I didn’t even finish the letter!”
Meiko finally says
Azriel looks at the letter and reads the rest of it.
“A party? All the way in Columbia? One of our friends must be messing with us.”
Azriel says
“Can we go? It’s also a new opportunity to go exploring after the party!”
Meiko tries to convince Azriel into going..
“I’ll think about it.”
Azriel goes to his room.
He leaves Meiko in the middle of the living room, Meiko feels like crying, Azriels been mean lately…Meiko runs to his room, he cries into his pillow..
Later that night, Meiko has fallen asleep, but now he’s woken up and he’s hungry…
‘I’ll just order DoorDash…’
He thinks to himself…
He calls the DoorDash guy and orders some pizza for Azriel and he orders himself a bowl of Alfredo…
The food eventually arrives…
Meiko knocks on Azriels door.
“I ordered DoorDash, I got you a pizza.”
Meiko says in the other side of the door.
“You did?”
Azriel says, as if he didn’t believe Meiko.
“Why would I lie?”
Meiko says.
Azriel puts his arm around Meiko waist as a hug.
“Thanks.”
Azriel goes to get his pizza.
Meiko follows him and sits next to Azriel and Meiko consumes the Alfredo.
“Damn, you ate all that in like… 2 minutes.”
Azriel points out
“Well I was hungry.”
“You don’t have heartburn?”
Azriel responds.
“I do”
“…ok..you should probably drink some water.”
“Nah I’m good.”
Meiko responds
“…are you still mad about how I yelled at you earlier?”
Azriel tries to make Meiko feel better…
“No.”
“I know you are.”
“Don’t lie to me Meiko.”
He says in a stern tone.
“Dont lie!”
He gets more agitated…
Azriel tries to calm himself down.
“Yes! I’m still mad that you yelled me!”
Meiko finally admits.
“Well I’m sorry that I care about your well being! If I didn’t like you I wouldn’t have yelled at you to not go! You’re not going by yourself!”
Azriel starts to yell again.
“Then why don’t you come?!”
“You keep saying that I can’t go! That I can’t go by myself so why can’t you come?!?!”
Meiko tells back
“You don’t even like party’s so what’s the point?!”
“I don’t want to go for the party, I want to go because I never get invited to things like this! I’m always inside! You never let me leave the house! I’m not just some helpless little kid!!”
“…whatever, it’s not like Columbia isn’t 2 hours away, you know I don’t like driving.”
Azriel points out.
“Who said you had to drive?”
Meiko says
“You don’t have a license, Meiko.”
Azriel says tiredly
“Yes I do.”
“Since when?”
“I’ve had it for 2 years!”
Meiko gets annoyed
“Then why do you have me drive you everywhere?!”
Azriel also gets annoyed
“Because my car is broken and you won’t let me drive yours.”
“…true.”
“Fine, I’ve made up my mind, we can go, on Wednesday it says?”
Azriel finally gives in to Meikos begs to go.
“Really?!”
“Yes, Wednesday is tomorrow so pack your bags.”
Azriel is still slightly irritated.
“You’re the best!”
Meiko tightly hugs Azriel and doesn’t let go, he stays there for a good few seconds before finally letting go.
Azriel pats his head

Meiko runs off to his room to pack his bag as, so does Azriel.
