Chapter 1: Mom Acting Strangely
Lately, Carole Powell has been displaying peculiar behavior. She would vanish for days on end, only to return in the wee hours of the morning. My older brother, Keith, and I were starting to take notice of her unusual routines.
One morning, Martha noticed her Mom in the bathroom. Her mom was elegantly dressed, applying makeup, and mentioned she was going out for the evening. She asked Martha if she could keep an eye on her younger brother, Barry, and little sister, Angel. Without hesitation, Martha assured her mom that she would take care of them.
An hour passed before Mom departed, leaving Keith and Her in charge of looking after Barry and Angel. Another hour slipped away without Mom's return. Keith and Her, feeling hungry and concerned, decided to have supper. Luckily, they discovered a Red Baron frozen pizza in the fridge, bringing a sense of relief. With Keith taking charge of preparing the pizza, Martha tended to Barry and Angel.
An hour passed, and we enjoyed a delicious pizza supper. Another hour went by, and to our surprise, Mom still hadn't returned. Keith and I grew increasingly concerned for her well-being, our minds racing with questions about her whereabouts. Despite the growing unease, we carried on with our nightly routine, trying to distract ourselves from the gnawing worry.
As the evening unwound, we settled in front of the glowing screen of the television before retiring to bed. The following day dawned upon Keith and Martha awakening with the first light, with Keith already bustling in the kitchen preparing breakfast. After an hour, the front door swung open and Mom wearily entered the house, her fatigued visage palpable. She began moving towards her bedroom, her steps heavy with exhaustion, leaving Keith and Martha bewildered by her unexpected return.
As the sun rose, we carried on with our usual morning rituals, but the day took a surprising turn when Mom departed once more. Determined to uncover her mystery, Keith and Martha made the bold decision to tail her. After dropping Barry and Angel at a nearby neighbor's home, we set off in pursuit of Mom in a separate vehicle. With a blend of curiosity and caution, we shadowed her discreetly, keen to unravel the secrets she held. As she navigated the city streets, we maintained a safe distance, wary of alerting her to our presence. Moving stealthily, we observed her entering a city building's garage, our intrigue mounting. Venturing inside ourselves, we kept a watchful eye on her, tails hidden but minds racing. Taking care to not lose her in the maze of the garage, we witnessed her parking in a designated spot, the final piece of the puzzle unfolding before us.
Keith and Martha parked their car in a distant spot in the parking lot, well away from their mother's vehicle. They observed as their mother brought her car to a halt, emerged from the driver's side, securely shut the door, activated the car's alarm system with a press of her key fob, and gracefully strode away. As she made her way towards the garage elevator, Keith and Martha discreetly left their own car and stealthily positioned themselves out of sight, ensuring they remained unnoticed. Their mother's figure gradually became smaller as she approached the elevator, pressed the 'up' button on the keypad, and patiently awaited its arrival. Soon enough, the doors slid open invitingly, she entered, selected a floor, the doors sealed shut, and the elevator smoothly ascended with her onboard.
Keith and Martha were filled with curiosity about their mom's mysterious destination. They quietly shadowed her, sneaking into the elevator just in time to catch sight of her slender figure leading the way. With silent steps, they trailed behind as she eventually stopped before a closed door. Their eager eyes peered through the window, catching a glimpse of Mom engaging in conversation with a receptionist. Inside the waiting room, she gracefully made her way towards a cozy chair, settling in with an air of calm assurance. Meanwhile, Keith and Martha exchanged puzzled looks as they pondered the purpose of their mom's clandestine visit. Suddenly, a voice pierced through the silence, calling out Mom's name. Swiftly rising to her feet, Mom gracefully followed the sound, disappearing through the doorway as it shut firmly behind her. Left outside, Keith and Martha remained mystified, their thoughts swirling with unanswered questions.
As they embarked on their investigation, diligently seeking out a window, Keith and Martha peered into the Psychiatrist's Office. Inside, a tall, Caucasian man in his late thirties with short brown hair and striking green eyes was adorned in layers of clothing, displaying a sense of professionalism. Sitting comfortably in his chair, he awaited Mom's arrival. When she entered, he gestured for her to recline on the chair. As Mom complied, the man positioned himself in a chair next to her, producing a Crystal Bauble suspended from a delicate silver chain. With a graceful motion, he began to gently sway the bauble before Mom's mesmerized gaze.
"Carole, look at the crystal bauble, do not resist it, do not look away, as you're looking at it, every muscle in your body is slowly relaxing, all of your senses, morals, willpower is slowly leaving your body, your whole body feels weightless, you'll have no control over your own body", The Short Brown Hair, Green Eyed Psychiatrist said.
Carole reclined on the plush couch, gaze fixed on the mesmerizing crystal bauble. As she watched its gentle movements, she felt each muscle in her body gradually releasing tension. Her senses, morals, and willpower seemed to drift away, leaving her in a state of peaceful surrender.
Keith and Martha were taken aback to see Mom still fixated on the dazzling crystal pendant hanging from a delicate silver chain. They were utterly clueless about the intentions of the psychiatrist with short brown hair, piercing green eyes. As they watched intently, Keith had his smartphone ready, prepared to spring into action and contact the authorities at a moment's notice if needed.
"Carole, your eyes are getting heavy, you're having trouble keeping them open, when I count backwards from ten to one, you'll fall into a deep sleep, Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Sleep", The Short Brown Hair, Green Eyed Psychiatrist said as he snapped his fingers.
Abruptly, Carole's eyes began to droop and gradually shut as she drifted into a profound, hypnotic slumber.
"Sleep, Sleep, Sleep, you need rest, just take a nap, continue listening to my voice, and Sleep, Sleep, Sleep", The Short Brown Hair, Green Eyed Psychiatrist said.
Keith and Martha were taken aback by what they had just witnessed. Feeling it was best to leave before being noticed, we began strolling back to our car. Along the way, we gathered Barry and Angel from the neighbor's house before heading back home.
Meanwhile back at the Psychiatrist's Office, the Short Brown Hair, Green Eyed Psychiatrist was looking at Carole, she was still in a deep hypnotic sleep.
"Now Carole, when I snap my fingers again, you'll wake up, but you'll be in a Hypnotic Trance, be in Tranced, be in Tranced, be in Tranced", The Psychiatrist said until he snapped his fingers.
As Carole stirred from her slumber, a vacant expression rested on her face. The Psychiatrist began to sway his hand before her eyes, hoping for a reaction, yet Carole remained unresponsive. Nevertheless, the Psychiatrist looked on with a smile, eager to guide her back to awareness.
"Carole, drift into a hypnotic trance as you listen to my voice. In this state, you will obey my every command without hesitation. Your response will be: 'Yes, Master, I understand. I will obey only you.' Do you comprehend?", The Psychiatrist asked.
"Understood, Master. I will obey only you.", Carole answered in a Monotone Voice.
"Carole, I want you to put your hand on your chest", The Psychiatrist said as he looked at her.
Carole started putting her hand on her chest, She was like an obedient robot, The Psychiatrist was smiling at her, he decided what to make her do next.
