Chapter 1
It was August 2nd, and it was an early Monday morning in Wilkesmon. It was the first day of 11th grade. Amanda woke up and got out of bed to take a shower, brush her teeth, and get ready for school. Amanda walked outside and went to the bus stop and waited for the bus to take her to school. As Amanda got to school, she saw this really cute boy named José Santos.
José had this beautiful brown hair and gorgeous blue eyes. Amanda thought to herself “He’s cute I am going to go over there to talk to him.” She walked over to José nervously, and she said “Hi I’m Amanda, I saw you over here while I was getting off the bus. Do you want to be friends?”
“Yes,” José said. Then they looked at each other's schedules and they saw that they have History, Math, and Social Studies together. They exchanged phone numbers and went to class. José and Amanda got paired together for a Social Studies project. So, after school José and Amanda spent 2 hours doing the Social Studies project over the phone.
Amanda has lived in Wilkesmon her whole life and José had just moved to Wilkesmon 2 weeks before school started. So, Amanda told José who to avoid such as Mia the popular IT girl. Amanda and José went to school the next day with smiles on their faces after a whole night of talking on the phone getting to know each other. At lunch the next day they talked about why José moved from his hometown. José moved because his parents got a divorce, and his dad decided to move.
