Love Deeper Than The Ocean

I glanced into Anita's eyes, looking quietly meeting her gaze, slowly falling deeper in love with her rosy cheeks and cinnamon complexion. The sky seemed a bit dull, as we sat the the park benches, Anita a few benches away from me and Court. Her bright blue eyes captivated me as I watched from afar, as her gaze drifted toward a friend of hers. Her friend I knew very well, she happened to be, my beloved girlfriend. I loved her, but I love Anita even more. My urge to get together with her will never be soothed so long as I'm alive. I just needed her in my arms, and tonight, I'd tell Courtney what has really been on my mind all these years. Or so I thought..

"Hey, baby!" Courtney wraps her hands around my shoulders, my cheeks blush a bright red color as Anita glances over at us, catching me staring at her. "Hey, Court." I slowly speak. She walks over in front of me and lifts my chin up to kiss me. It all happened so fast, but she kissed me for far too long. She obviously expected a proposal this year, but I don't know how to break her heart. Especially on purpose. She finally let's go of me and sits beside me legs crossed against each other. "So, darling. How has your week been?" I looked at her worriedly, feeling too ashamed to have been with such an incredible woman. I brush my long black braids behind my left ear, carefully examining the cloud in the sky. "Well, I think it's been wonderful, I just -" I stopped myself. And thought for a moment, glancing at Anita a few times. "Couldn't stop thinking about your beautiful albino blue eyes." I finally said. She looked at me. "This is why I love you so much." I looked at Court in the face. And smiled meekly. "You okay, baby?" She ran her fingers through my braids. "Yeah, I'm good." I told her. She was much taller than me, I sat around 4'11 feet tall while she was around 5'6. Her beautiful hair and freckles on her face complimented her complexion very much. She had fair skin, lovely ice blue eyes, and strawberry pink hair. I loved her. "I was thinking.." I began. She looked at me with all interest. "What if, uhm hypothetically. We became a couple of, well. Three?" I asked her. She looked at me funny. "Hypothetically?" She questioned. I nodded, feeling a bit uneasy. "Yeah, well. That would work with me. it just depends on who. And any of my friends are for sure out of the mix. It would make things weird." I looked at her in the eye. "Okay." I simply said. "That's all you have to say?" Court asked me. I smiled and nodded my head, getting up. "You're such a short little cupcake." She smiled at me, standing up. She was the more dominant one, and I didn't mind it one bit. In fact, I preferred it that way. I looked at her with a little bit of confusion and anger. She ruffled my braids about, and I quickly removed her hand. Anita had been watching us. And I didn't want her to think things were very serious. "Rosalind!" Anita shouted. She ran up to us, Courtney holding my hand with a phone in her right hand. "I just wanted to ask you a question." Anita spoke, her sweet angelic voice whispering gently in the air. I looked at her, nodded, and she began to speak. "I never realized you two were dating, so I'm asuming your bisexual?" She said. I looked her in the eye. Lingering. I could surely not tell her I was gay. Right? "Well, not necessarily." I hesitated for a moment. "I would say I'm lesbian." I said. She looked at me with a smile. "That's great!" She smiled. "I support LGBTQ+, and I have an article I'm writing to spread awareness. And I thought you'd be perfect, well. Not just you, but Courtney, too." Courtney looked at me, slightly surprised as well. We nodded in sync. I'm thinking for a moment. I whispered in the Court's ear. "We'll think about it, Anita." Court smiled at Anita brightly, taking my arm as we walked away to the cafe nearby, which Court promised to take me to one day. "What do you want?" She asked me, as I looked carefully, examining the menu, careful of what I should choose. I ended up deciding on a cherry muffin, stuffed with strawberry filling. And a vanilla Frappuccino. "I'll have those two." I pointed towards the menu board. The two items I'd chosen display the images. "Alright," she continued to order while I sat at a nearby table. As a handsome young man approached me. "Do you mind if I sit with you?" He questioned. I nodded my head and began to speak. "Someone else will be sitting here too, my girlfriend over there. She's ordering our stuff." I pointed out the slim figure in the crowd. "Oh, I see." He said. Taking a seat. "Are you employed?" He asked. I looked at him in the eye. "Well, it depends. Do you have a job offer for me?" I questioned, we both chuckled a little. "Maybe, but first, what happened to be your talents?"

"Well, I'm astonishingly great at writing, especially articles. Also, I am a loyal person to everyone I meet. I would never cheat on anyone or my company." I started, I hesitated for a moment. Before continuing. "Well, I just have a question for you, if you don't mind, sir." I began. "I was wondering, what field of work are you in?" He chuckled and smiled. Looking out the window. "I'm a lawyer. A criminal lawyer." He said, I looked interestingly at him. Court began making her way over to us. "Hey, who are you?" She politely spoke in her nonchalant way. "Well, I'm Gregory, Greg if you will." He smiled at Court. I looked at her, a smile on my face. "Gregory asked if he could sit here, I told him he could and that you'd be coming over here soon." Court nodded her head, taking the third seat.

I watched outside as the sun began to set behind a large building. Courtney's hand is gripping my lap. I sat back, relaxed, while Gregory entertained us with his work stories without giving away personal or legal information. I nodded occasionally, biting my lip. Court winked at me when Gregory left. He had given us a number card, and Courtney graciously accepted it. "You want to head to the apartment now?" She spoke. I looked at her, slightly convinced she might have liked Gregory. "Yeah, I'm tired, I can't wait to rest tonight." She smiled at me, "Okay, let's get home quickly then."
