Chapter 1 quickly moving along
Deep in the night as the thunder roared and the lightening cut through the night sky, Katrina jerked up in her bed suddenly, with tears in the corner of her eyes and glistening beads of sweat on her forehead, she tried to calm her ragged breathing. Again for the fourth night in a row she dreamt about the horrible night five days prior, Her father Edward informing her she shall marry for the benefits of his buisness. He wanted to expand his buisness and in order to do that he needed his daughter to be married off to the son of a very successful drug lord. She dreaded the month coming up for it was the month she is suppose to marry Lewis Espinoza, the feared drug lord Enrique Espinoza’s son. As she thought about the arranged marriage she suddenly heard the lock to the front door click as someone put the key in the lock and turned it slowly. She quickly layed down in fright and arranged herself to look as if she was asleep. Through the front door her drunk and high father stumbled in, knocking over the lamp by the entrance. He groaned “ughhh” from annoyance. He stumbled down the hall and stopped right outside Katrina’s door. He opened the door quickly to try catching her awake as she was always told be asleep no later than seven and be up no later than five. Katrina thought to herself “ha dumb bastard, you do this to much iv’e already learned to fake sleep when you come home.” He groaned as in angered that he couldn’t catch her doing anything. With that he stumbled in and yanked her blanket right off of her. She flinched and gave him a bewildered look of fear as she stared up at him from her bed. “Get up, change of plans.” He said with a grumble. She quickly forced herself up out of bed as she asked, “what plans? What are we doing?” She looked down at her feet as he stared at her. Risky move Katrina thought to her self. But to her suprise he gave her an answer. A cold but solid informitive answer. “You’re getting married earlier, we’re going tonight.” I looked up at him in shock for what he had just said. I didnt question anymore as I understood what he said and packed the two shirts and three pants I owned. As I exited through my door I looked back at the dark tiny dusty room with the cardboard bed. It wasn’t much but it was my comfort place for the past 14 years. I slowly closed the door and started to shake at thought of it being my last time closing it. What if I dont have my own space where ever im going? I walked with my father as we walked to his beautiful black Roll Royce. We got in the car and started to drive away after we buckled in. It was a dark windy foggy night with thunder booming through the night and lightening lighting up the dark sky. I stared out the window listening to my heart beat out of my chest. I couldn’t show my father any fear. Twenty minutes later we arrive to a huge mansion with a beautiful golden fence. As we pulled in everything automatically opened for us as if we we’re expected. How long has father been planning this? Katrina thought to herself. As we pulled into the driveway I stared at the figures moving towards us. The doors opened and I was met with strong steady hands. Two tall butlers pulled me out and hurried me into the house. They quickly went back to the car to retreive my baggage. They never said a single thing to me, just pointed and shoved me gently along we’re they wanted me to go. They took me to my room and when I entered I was astounded. It was huge and had an ACTUAL bed. I gleamed in happiness. For the first time the tall butlers talked to me, “sir Enrique Espinoza and Lewis espinoza shall see you in the morning, be dressed and prepped. You have new clothes in the furniture, choose as you please.” With that they walked out.
