Summary

A man with a past—one he refuses to return to—now walks a path of purpose. He moves in silence, answering the calls of those trapped in the darkness, bound, blindfolded, and waiting for a rescue they can’t see coming. His presence is known by few, but his impact is undeniable. Each mission takes him deeper into a world where trust is scarce, and danger lingers in every shadow. The ones he saves are more than just familiar faces—they are threads in a story that has yet to be fully unraveled. Back at the Impact Center, a place built on redemption and second chances, those who were lost begin to find their way again. But even within these walls, not everyone holds the same vision. Hidden motives threaten to fracture what was built, and the truth is waiting to be uncovered. As the battles intensify, the cost of staying on this path becomes heavier. The weight of the past presses against the present, testing his restraint, his purpose, and the very foundation of who he has become. But no matter how fierce the storm, he remains unshaken. He is not here to destroy—he is here to build. The unexpected awaits. The past will resurface. But in the end, only those who truly understand the mission will stand.

Keep dreaming

Marie Jackson was once the most beautiful woman in her high school. She won the best dress, most popular kids and homecoming queen three years in a row. She met her husband Ben in ninth grade. The two of them felt like it was love at first sight! 18 years passed by, and she was still with Ben. The two of them have grown apart. Marie just got a new job working at Spiritual Builder’s Impact Center. It's her first day at work, and she is daydreaming at her desk! She is thinking, “When all the world is sleeping, we have these mind-blowing conversations! I often ask him, how can I accept what can possibly never be? I never thought I could meet someone like S B! “It’s because we were meant to meet,” S B said. He has me on this high and that makes me miss him like crazy when we don't communicate! Marie put her hand on her head and sighed.

I don't know how to explain the feelings I get when we talk or the feelings I get when we don’t talk to each other! We laugh! We cry! We share our feelings, she thought, as she became very emotional! I’ve honestly talked to him more in a week than I have to my own husband in fifteen years. A tear fell from Marie’s face! S B had made it back from his break. Marie hadn't noticed and was still deep in her daydream! How can I feel this way about someone who is literally impossible to be with? I mean, is that what makes this feel so exciting! Maybe it's because it's something new and different! How can someone who's only known me a few days appreciate me for who I really am? Gazing at the ceiling, she said to herself calmly, He has opened my eyes to so much! His eyes, oh his eyes, make me feel things that I haven't felt in years! I can hear his deep voice as he tells me that he feels the same way about me, but remember this is just business.

Marie spinned around in her chair and sighed! She was in a real fantasy land! It was her quiet place. She develops this place in her mind to escape the abuse and bullying. Why do I desire his lips? Is it because they are so sexy? Is it because he kisses me softly? Oh my goodness, the temptation is so raw! He knows exactly where to touch me! I get chills when I think of his soft hands, caressing my body while he sings in my ear! I want him next to me! I want to wake up next to him!

Marie! Marie!! Snap out of it girl, said S B while interrupting her in the middle of a daydream. You've been staring at that phone for twenty-three minutes! This is Guru Nanak! Have you ever heard of him, S B asked? I don't think so, Marie responded shamefully. Can you check him out and summarize his bio in a small paragraph, he asked as he handed her a photo of the Guru? I need it for a special project that I'm working on, said S B.

Really? Yes, I can do it, I’ll get on that right now, said Marie.

He smiled, looked at her and said, “Hey Marie, Thanks Again for being part of something bigger than us. It’s going to be awesome. Go home and get some rest. You have a long day ahead of you tomorrow. He walked toward the door, turned around and said, “Lock the door and remember the password, zero nine one nine to enter and five five five star to exit. I will see you at seven thirty in the morning.” He closed the door and walked to his car. Marie was so embarrassed. How long was he standing there? I didn't even hear his footsteps approaching me. I must have been in a daydream, Marie said to herself.

I need to write the lock code down before I forget it. She stood up from her desk and walked to the window! Ben should almost be here. Marie sighed and said, “It's been a long day. I still have to cook. She closed all the window blinds in the office. Ben is too lazy to have a meal prepared for me when I get home, she thought angrily. What was I thinking when I married him anyway, she asked herself?”

Let me call his phone and check on him.

Marie took out her phone to call Ben. He picked up the phone at the first ring. Hello, where are you? You should be here by now,

said Marie. I was in traffic, Ben responded calmly. I'm almost there. Why? Do you need anything, he asked. No, I was just checking on your whereabouts, Marie responded. I'm just tired and ready to go home. Did you cook anything, Marie asked? No, I was out with Joey picking up supplies for his new building, Ben responded.

Well, I'm hungry. I have been at work all day, so, I guess dinner is on you. Order me something delicious from our favorite spot. Call me when you pull in front of the building. I have to make sure everything is shut down properly, and I can not be on the phone while it's connecting, said Marie

as she rushed to finish everything before Ben pulled up. I'm four blocks away, I'll see you shortly, Ben replied. Just like I thought, I knew he wouldn't cook me dinner. Why did I even ask? Ben hasn't cooked for me in three years. I don't know if he can still cook, she thought. When I get home, I am going to get in bed after I take my bath, and I'm going to call it a night, Marie said to herself.

Ben pulled up. How long have you been out here waiting, Ben asked? I just made it out here. So what did you order me for dinner, Marie asked. Corn dogs, Ben said jokingly. At that time, Marie was drinking some water and spitted it out from laughing. Corn dogs, she said as she pushed his head. You know, I don't eat that mess. You better be joking. No, I'm not joking, he said. I left my wallet at home, and all I have is a few bucks on me. Well, who have you been paying attention to for these past fifteen years? You know I don't eat corn dogs, I am so disappointed in you, Marie said, while folding her arms in disappointment. Calm down, I'm just joking, Ben responded, knowing that she would be mad all night because of a joke if he didn't fix it. Well, what did you order me, Marie asked? Well, Gringos had a thirty-minute wait, and Chili’s wait time was even longer, so I order you the Seafood Trio, with Alfredo pasta, and extra, cheddar biscuits, from Red Lobster, and I order a 16 ounce salmon, over rice for me. Now that sounds better, Marie said in a sweet voice, realizing that she may have been moody from hunger pains and tiredness! Once they made it home, there was a complete silence that came upon the two bedrooms. All you could hear was the sound of lips smacking and teeth grinding.

Have you seen Donny because I haven't heard from him all day, asked Marie? He's normally at home before I get there. Ben looked at Marie, shocked, realizing that he hadn't heard from their son either. Have you checked your voicemail or text messages, Ben asked? No, but he had better be here before I go to sleep, Marie said. Then the phone rung and a panicky voice on the other end cried out. Mom, Mom! Can you hear me? I'd been in an accident, Donny said. A deer ran in front of the car, and I dodged it, but I hit a tree, said Donny! Are you hurt? Did you call the police? Where are you, Marie asked? Calm down mom, I'm not hurt, and I didn't call the police. I'm on the back road, not even a mile from the house Donny said. What did I tell you about the back roads, Marie Shouted? You're too young to travel that road alone. We're on our way. Turn on the flashers. Realizing she was getting angry, she handed Ben the phone. Here, talk to your father. Where are you at, Donny, Ben asked? Which side are you on? I'm on F M five twenty-two right behind the Chevron, Donny replied. Hey Dad, I'm not alone either. I picked up Lolo, and I was taking her home. Pulling up to the car, Marie's eyes filled with tears as she saw her car's hood smashed and the windshield shattered. You all get in the car, we'll deal with this situation tomorrow, it's too late, and we have to get Lolo to the house, Marie said, voice cracking with every word. They dropped Lolo off, went home and got into the bed.

The next morning, Marie arrived at work one hour early. Now that they only had one vehicle working, it was the only way everyone could be on time. It was a long night, and she barely slept. All night she tossed and turned with a mixture of emotions going through her body. Walking down the sidewalk, she saw SB coming from the opposite direction toward the building.

"Good morning," Marie said gently, as she approached the entrance of S B Impact Center. “Good Morning ma’am!! How are you feeling this morning”, S B asked? I'm good! I was just reading and trying to investigate more information on the link you sent me last night, Marie said. S B smiled and asked?
Did you check out the guru Nanak ?
Yes I did! I'm still looking for more information on him though! I barely had any time to wash my behind, with all this work, Marie responded.
S B opened the door and giggled!
What’s funny, Marie asked, and stopped walking?
In life, everything is not going to be about you. Think before you make a statement. Remember that, S B responded.
Don’t forget to start creating today please. I’m desperate to see what it leads to today, and hey, do only ten pictures. I don't want you getting lost in pictures and forgetting the main goal of the project! He always knew what to say. Sometimes I think he’s often listening to those motivational books or something. I never met a man that knows exactly what he wants! No matter how much you talk to him, it seems as if he always comes back to the same topic, Marie thought!

The first time Marie met him, he walked into her office and said "how are you." Marie replied "I'm good thanks". She could feel S B staring at her as she checked his paperwork and issued him a visitor badge to enter the refinery. She stood up and walked outside next to him. S B opened his mouth, looked down at her and said, "dang girl your short!" He started laughing! She somewhat grinned at him because it was funny, and it just came out of nowhere. Who says that to a stranger, she thought. She inspected his truck and they separate ways. A few days passed, and Marie arrived to work to relieve the night shift officer. S B was walking out of the building, and she saw him again. They looked at each other and smiled. The day was kind of blurry for her because she was still sleepy. It was five a m, and she was tired from the previous night. She didn't say much to him that day. She didn't say much to anyone. Her only concern was to get home and beat the crap out of Donny for wrecking her car the night before. Although she was glad he didn't get hurt, it was her only vehicle, and the only thing she had purchased with her own money. Ben had a truck, but he acted funny when she asked him to do anything personal, so having a vehicle of her own was very important. Donny ruined it for her, she thought. Ben always made the statement of how irresponsible Donny was, and they bumped heads often. It's no telling what would happen if Marie wasn't home and Ben tossed the situation in his face! Ben was the only father figure in Donny's life. He even called him dad. He had never met his real father, so not only did he have respect for Ben, but he actually loved him. It'd only been two months since Donnie wrecked the car the first time, and Marie felt terrible because she should have listened to Ben when he suggested that Donny was too young to drive.

She wasn't going to let S B know about the situation. He offered to buy her a car, as a sign on bonus, when he hired her. She rejected his offering, because of the guilt she had from secretly being interested in him. If I took that car, he may have thought I wanted to sleep with him, she thought. Although Ben was lazy, she could never think of hurting him. A couple of guys had flirted with her before, and she flirted back, but that was just at work behavior, she thought.

Marie turned to S B and said, I thought of a new slogan for the company. Oh yeah, S B replied. Let me hear what you got! Marie went in her purse, pulled out a blue sticky pad and said, "Spiritual Builder, Loving one another, Trusting One Another. Building Goals, One Soul At A Time."

Oh my God, I love it, S B said! When did you come up with that? Marie looked shocked, she just knew that he would not approve of the slogan. I would like to get some business cards made with the slogan on them, S B said. Marie, do you know how to create business cards? Of course, I do, Marie responded. Well, I need to order two thousand of them. Use our logo as the background design! He placed his hand on her shoulder and said, my friend, we are going to celebrate your success! You are absolutely amazing, and I am so blessed to have you on board.

Marie, someone called out playfully while walking up the hallway! What do you want Michael, she said, nonchalantly? I was told by someone that Little Donny totaled your car, and that you might need a ride home this afternoon, Michael stated. No, I'm Fine! If I need a ride home, I will just call my husband, besides, who told you that anyway, Marie said. Darling, you know this town talks. Everybody saw your car, behind the Chevron, and I saw old Ben over there trying to pull it out with a chain! Michael laughed and said, He still got that raggedy truck? You need a real man that can afford to get you something. How about getting you a new job, Marie said. We make about the same amount and work hard for it. Ben works 2 hours a day, and gross what we do in 8 hours.
