Chapter 1: Held Up in the Basement Room of the House.

In the dimly lit basement of her home, Kathy Miller sat on a worn chair, cradling her 3-year-old son, Barry Miller, in her arms.

A burglar had recently broken into their home, holding them hostage in the damp basement. Kathy's mind raced with fear as she pondered the intruder's intentions.

"Mommy what's that bad man going to do to us?", Barry asked.

"Shh, sweetheart, Shh", Kathy answered.

All at once, the air was filled with the hushed rhythm of approaching footsteps. Kathy's grip on her son tightened, her heart racing with trepidation. Fear gripped her as she pondered the burglar's intentions, her mind racing with thoughts of impending danger. The sound of muffled footsteps reached her ears as they drew closer to the top of the basement door. Kathy clutched her son tightly, the sound of the doorknob rattling and turning echoed in her ears., As the door swung open, the sudden appearance of a figure descending the stairs caught Kathy and Barry off guard. Their eyes widened in disbelief as they locked gazes with the intruder, who stood before them with a mischievous glint in his eyes. Kathy instinctively clung onto Barry, her fingers gripping his arm tightly in fear.

The burglar began to stride confidently towards them Suddenly, the bugler seized Kathy's arm.

"You're coming with me; The Brat stays here. Join me on this journey ahead, let the mischievous one remain in this place of solitude.", The Burgler said.

"Ok, Barry, Mommy is going to be leaving you, so I want you to be a brave little boy for me", Kathy replied as she looked at her son.

"Ok, Mommy", Barry said.

With a firm grip, the Burglar ushered Kathy up the stairs and through the basement doorway, deftly closing the door behind them, leaving Barry stranded in the basement.
